Always Together: GTA VI Character Swap 1.0

GTA VI has taken interaction between its two main characters to a new level of detail. This mod is an attempt at something similar in GTA V: exploring the open world alongside a main or supporting character, an ordinary NPC, or any Add-On model you have installed.
Everything described below is in the free version, and every fix and game patch update goes there first. Patreon Subscribers get an extended build where you can bring up to three companions along at once — enough to turn a drive across Los Santos into a proper crew — and the interaction menu is expanded with an additional set of adult animations. Patrons also get new releases three days early and help decide what I build next.
By default you pick one of four companions: Michael, Franklin, Trevor, or an MP character. Models and meeting points are defined in AlwaysTogether.ini, so any of them can be swapped for something else entirely — in my own setup I replaced the MP character with Tanisha and went for a walk with her and Franklin.
Switching between characters works through the familiar character wheel, with the main characters you haven't invited staying unavailable until you do. Your companion is not just a follower. Open fire on someone and they will open fire beside you; get yourself into trouble and they will step in. The switch works even at speed — leave the driving to an NPC, take the passenger seat as somebody else, and keep shooting out of the window while the car stays on the road. And the interaction menu is there for the quieter stretches, with animations that let the two of you actually spend time together rather than just travel in the same direction.
Requirements:
Move all files from the archive to the Scripts folder.

another great hit, fren.
@andre500 Is there any extra configuration? No matter which model I choose, whenever I try to call the company, I get the message "could not join right now."
@Matthew Liddell No setup is required. Which character are you playing, and who are you trying to invite?
Hell yeah! The last shot in the trailer hinted that there's a hot scene option, is Hot Coffee in this? I want that with the option of the character coming into our mansions. The clip showed the character inside Franklins home with a hug option, is the hot coffee option avail in the mansion as well? (Hope so. That is what all the other buddy, girlfriend mods are missing)
@andre500 I'm playing as Trevor and have tried countless peds, even the Online ones, but the message is always the same. I'm on the Enhanced version, though I don't think that makes a difference since the hashes and names are the same.
@Matthew Liddell I'll see what the problem might be.
@andre500 you been on a role recently, great work!
This is a peak opportunity for some Ifruit Jailbreak contacts that allow to call characters for this purpose, Not really a fan of the pick up system, but I'm sure you have thought about this
@andre500 yet another way to make me feel lonely. Thanks
Can I use this if I'm using a character swap mod already?
@andre500 My bad, man; I think I figured out what was going on. I thought each character was supposed to use only their own 'mark' on the map, but it was actually the other way around, that's why the mod wouldn't load, because I was already using the character the other one was meant to replace. I get how it works now. But could you add a menu to customize the companion's outfit? And also remove the ragdoll effects from them, like the three main characters have? When they get shot and go into ragdoll mode, they don't recover until they die, and that looks pretty weird.
@Matthew Liddell Thanks for the feedback! I'll disable ragdoll in the next patch. As for changing clothes, I'll think about how to implement that.
@andre500 thanks man, amazing mod. I also noticed that the health and armor settings might not be working correctly; I set them to 60000 for testing, yet he still died after 8 or 10 shots. But otherwise, everything seems normal.
Amazing mod i would add the ability to hold hands and the switcher HUD from gta vi if possible
Nice mod I really like it but whenever i switch character they stop following each other... they will get in and out of vehicles but will just stand there and don't follow once you've done a switch... could be an issue my end i'm running a heavily modded lccp game and ive edited the protagonist's playermodels but just wondered if anyone else is having this issue or there's a setting i'm missing.
@andre500 together smoke pls
