Made a small conversion tool from onigiri -> oiv since I also wanted to use this mod and I already managed to break my game twice.
Until it gets approved here, I've uploaded the .py code to github gists
https://gist.github.com/nitanmarcel/4a3c2346d0e898ca87a8692d92a263de
You'll need python for now, the gta5-mods release will have a self contained exe
please get this working with NVE! ill be all over this. looks fantastic!
Can we stop spamming GTA 6 HUD mods? There's already a billion on them and it doesn't even look good.
@nitanmarcel @onestarlaw Noted, I'll add that !
But be careful, if you have other mods that overwrite the same files (graphical ones mainly), some files from those mods will revert to vanilla (that's why I'm working on my own installer GTAModPatcher which only modifies what's needed)
@nitanmarcel Does it modify the game from the onigiri folder to the classic mods folder ? I wanted to include that in the future release but if it is what you did I'll just add a link to your mod if that's ok with you ! It would be terrific because that onigiri folder has given me a headache and certain stuff just would not load correctly with it, it's impossible to mod it correctly and I don't even know why they did this ahah
@Unsearchably And why won't we post them ? If they don't look good to you just don't use them ? Each of our mods have their specific way of doing things, and I treat mine more as a learning project more than just a mod. Remember, you have free will, and so does everyone else :)
@D3F4L7_ yes, it converts an "onigiri" folder structure to the classic "mods" folder structure.
You can see the mapping in the header docstrings in the script. I've pulled the original structure right from the onigiri.asi disassembly code (.asi is usually just a C/C++ shared library)
a little correction to my message above. More specifically to .ovi format which can then me installed as usual into the mods folder via an installer
Man @D3F4L7_ , I thought the idea was amazing; please make a version compatible with NVE Enhanced.
Please make this work on NaturalVision Enhanced.
@nitanmarcel I see, this is quite good indeed, exactly what would be needed. I'll pin your comment for now for people that want to use my mod when NVE !
For everyone asking about an NVE option, please check the pinned comment and convert your NVE onigiri install to a classic mods folder, only way to make it work.
@D3F4L7_ Great. Btw just to note a small bug that might be caused by this mod: Every light it's too bright and emits a lot of bloom after installing NVE and this particular hud mod. No idea what causes it.
Bro, please PLEASE keep working on this project and don't let it stop here. ❤️🔥
You've already created something with an incredible amount of potential. I really hope you continue developing it for a long time and take it as far as technically possible.
First of all, please keep focusing on fixing every bug, compatibility issue, visual glitch, animation problem and anything else the community reports. Polish everything as much as possible and make the foundation extremely stable.
But after that… PLEASE keep going. 🙏🔥
Keep bringing new ideas, new features, new animations, new UI elements and new GTA VI-inspired systems to the project.
Don't just make it another HUD mod.
Turn it into a COMPLETE GTA VI-inspired HUD and UI overhaul for GTA V.
There are so many possibilities:
• Keep improving the minimap and radar until it feels as smooth and modern as possible.
• Make the HUD dynamically react to what the player is doing — walking, driving, swimming, flying, fighting, aiming, etc.
• Add even more advanced vehicle HUD features.
• Make the navigation/GPS system more dynamic and polished.
• Add better animations and transitions everywhere.
• Improve the wanted level system and make it feel more modern.
• Add more GTA VI-inspired notifications and interaction UI.
• Create different HUD modes such as GTA VI, Classic, Minimal and Immersive.
• Give players deep customization for size, position, opacity, colors and individual HUD elements.
• Add more controller support and customizable controls.
• Improve the auto-hide system so the HUD disappears naturally when it's not needed.
• Add more immersive mission, objective and interaction interfaces.
• Add better vehicle information and status indicators.
• Improve the radar depending on whether the player is on foot, driving, flying or swimming.
• Add more subtle UI animations and transitions instead of making everything instantly appear/disappear.
• Add optional cinematic/immersive modes for players who want almost no HUD.
• Keep improving compatibility with other GTA V mods and different game versions.
And most importantly, keep listening to the community.
Every bug report, suggestion and piece of feedback can help make this project better.
Please don't rush it. Take your time, experiment, improve things, remove what doesn't work, and keep polishing it until everything feels right.
I'd much rather see this project receive many smaller quality updates over time than have it abandoned after reaching version 1.0.
You've already built the foundation.
Now imagine where this could be a year or two from now if you keep developing it.
A complete GTA VI-inspired interface for GTA V.
A HUD that feels modern, smooth, responsive, customizable and incredibly immersive.
Something that makes people install GTA V again just to experience the interface.
You have a REALLY great project here.
Please keep fixing it.
Please keep improving it.
Please keep adding new ideas.
Please keep experimenting.
And most importantly…
PLEASE DON'T ABANDON THIS MOD. ❤️🔥
Take it as far as you possibly can.
I genuinely can't wait to see what this project becomes when you keep developing it and eventually bring the whole vision to life. 🚀🔥
Keep going, bro. You've got something special here.❤️

@nitanmarcel If you used the .oiv from my mod it's overwriting graphics.ytd which is probably already modified by NVE. That's why I provide manual installation + my installer/patcher (GMP) that will insert only the needed files without touching the rest. I wish that GMP would become a more widespread way of installing things because .oiv is way to barebone and just replaces all the files which is not adapted to having many mods and I'll provide it as a standalone mod when I have worked on it a bit more but Idk I think people are to used to .oiv files lol
@GrandHaven Hi ! Thanks for the thorough feedback it's greatly appreciated ! I'll try my best to keep it up-to-date as things goes on and we know more stuff about GTA 6. I've a few ideas I want to implement in the near future as well as polishing it to make it feel as it was a part of the game and not just an overlay ! I'll take my time and will try my best to not abandon it ! Let's hope that life just doesn't get in the way :D
Anyway, thanks again for the feedback and I'm glad you like it !
Cheers
@D3F4L7_ ye I fixed it a while ago, just forgot to comment that.
@D3F4L7_ Can the route and health/armor bar colors be changed?
My friend, the mod is excellent, its design is professional, and its settings are superb. It's literally one of the best interface mods, but there's a problem and an error.
When I open the game, everything works perfectly, but when I get into any vehicle, it kicks me out of the game with a window.
⚠️SCRIPT HOOK V CRITICAL ERROR⚠️
⚠️FATAL: Can't find native OxF7AF4F159FF99F97⚠️
I hope an update will be released to fix this problem. It only happens when I'm riding in vehicles, and I've experienced it more than 11 times. Each time, I try adjusting the settings to help ChatGPT
For my copy of the game GTA5 1.0.1180.2 Legacy
I hope the problem is solved as soon as possible because I really liked the mod. Thank you, and best regards.
My account if you want to inquire further about the error

The wanted indicator does not fully match the mini map, and cannot be displayed using Chinese characters.
The mod is working, but some part of it is not. The window with car name does not appear, only engine icon appears, and also there's other thin empty bar that is supposed to display current street name I reckon. It's also doesn't work. I'm using Polish version of the game, I installed the fonts but it doesn't seem to fix the issue for now. The text that says to turn left/right its also missing. It only displays arrows. I would appreciate some fix
