Welcome to Peds Pain & Death Sounds Improvements [PP&DSI]
I never liked the death sounds for pedestrians in GTA V, I even know some of them by heart. In previous games like Max Payne 3 or Red Dead Redemption 1, they were more realistic, so I decided to create this mod that adds new screams, pain sounds, and more from other games like the aforementioned Max Payne 3, Mortal Kombat, Ready or Not, Battlefield, etc.
Installation:
To install the mod, you must
1. Extract the mod folder to your desktop
2. Open OpenIV
3. Go to mods/x64/audio/sfx/
4. Open the mod PAIN.RPF folder and drag the files from the folder containing the .awc files into the GTA 5 PAIN.RPF in OpenIV
5. Exit the PAIN.RPF in OpenIV and open S.MISC.RPF
6. Open the mod S.MISC.RPF folder and drag the .awc files into the GTA 5 S.MISC.RPF folder in OpenIV
7. Enjoy the mod
PP&DSI 1.8
The mod is now called PP&DSI 1.8
Improvements to the sounds when tasering, burning, or killing an NPC (including when they fall)
New, more realistic death sounds have been added
New gurgling sounds have been added for headshots
And more.
Fixes & Improvements:
Added better death sounds for Males, got them from RDR1.
Fixed some pain sounds and death sounds repeating.
Mod optimization: now the mod's size is 50 MB
Mod's new installation method added.
Fixes & Improvements update's new installation:
Someday I'll try to create an automatic installer to make the installation even easier
To install the mod, you must
1. Extract the mod folder to your desktop
2. Open OpenIV
3. Go to mods/x64/audio/sfx/
4. Open the mod PAIN.RPF folder and drag the files from the folder containing the .awc files into the GTA 5 PAIN.RPF in OpenIV
5. Exit the PAIN.RPF in OpenIV and open S.MISC.RPF
6. Open the mod S.MISC.RPF folder and drag the .awc files into the GTA 5 S.MISC.RPF folder in OpenIV
7. Enjoy the mod
OLD INSTALLATION (Before Fixes & Improvements Update)
1. Use OpenIV to open your GTA V root folder.
2. Navigate to mods/x64/audio/sfx/PAIN.RPF.
Inside this folder, drag and drop the .oac files. [Extract the RAR file if you can't drag them]
(Make sure to have "Edit Mode" enabled and always work within the "Mods" folder otherwise, it could break your GTA V installation.)
3. Now, do the same for S-MISC.RPF. Enter the folder and drag the .oac files into:
mods/x64/audio/sfx/S-MISC.RPF
Sadly i don't think it works with FiveM, cuz i tried everything but it just doesn't work.
If you have the doubt that this mod works in GTA V Enhanced, the answer is yes, the only thing that happens is that to make it work I directly drag the PAIN.RPF after replacing it to the same path of the file, from Legacy to Enhanced. (or just use CodeWalker)
If you have any issues or questions, let me know on the comments.

What do i do?
@D4v1d_ I'm really sorry for the late reply. First, try extracting the mod folder to your desktop, and then copy it into the game from there.
Hi, I'm back. I'm sorry I stopped updating this mod for a while—I've just been busy with other things and didn't have time. Here's an update at last!
v1.7
Added changes:
Crying sounds for Males
Coughing sounds for Females
Cowering sounds for Males
Better Headshot sounds for Females
Better Stunning sounds for Females
Upgraded Panic Screams for Males
whats the particle mod were you using? like the blood and the weapon firing
@0Axes Weapon fire is just from GTA V Enhanced's effects, the blood mod is called Blood & Gore [Legacy | Enhanced]
how do you install for enhanced? I still don't hear the modded audio
@esschrieck The mod for Enhanced is installed the same way as for Legacy, although you'll need to use CodeWalker or something similar.
I installed it but I rarely ever hear the modded screams it is mostly just vanilla
@esschrieck That's not supposed to happen. Did you just install the “waveload_pain_male.oac” and “waveload_pain_female.oac” files? Maybe you're missing something.
@esschrieck Even so, the next time I update the mod, I'll try to make a different installation method to make it easier
@Hernancho674 I installed everything
@esschrieck try now, i have updated the mod and now it uses a different installation method.
Fixes & Improvements update's new installation:
Someday I'll try to create an automatic installer to make the installation even easier
To install the mod, you must
1. Extract the "New Death Sounds For Peds Fixes & Improvements" folder to your desktop
2. Open OpenIV
@dawanklord i did that, try it now
@johnmac328 glad you liked it!
[EXPERIMENTAL VERSION] Added
This is a test version, as I'm working on improving it and adding more realism, for example, to headshots and the moans when a pedestrian enters “writhe” mode.
So if there are any bugs such as audio not always working, that's to be expected since it's a test version. Even so, I'd recommend installing it since it already includes those improvements.
It doesn work for me, every person is now quiet when i shoot them. Any help please?
@Mihael_123 Which version did you install? That issue was present in some older versions of this mod, but I've already fixed it.
Im using the newest version and I really dont know what could be causing the issue, I dont have any other mods installed.
@Mihael_123 That's weird, it should be working fine, try to reinstall it again maybe something is off
