Tired of your protagonist smashing perfectly good car windows every single time you aim a gun inside a vehicle?
No More Breaking Windows fixes GTA V’s annoying mechanic! The moment you aim your weapon, your character opens the window instead of shattering it into a million pieces.
Features
- No more ruined sports cars or ugly broken windows after a quick drive-by.
- Works on any seats
- Very lightweight
- Window closes after you're done aiming
- Works with broken/already open windows
- Works with passengers (bodyguards, protagonists, other game characters, etc.)
- Window breaking animation plays only initially (check changelogs)
- Script doesn't enable with fist (without equipping any weapons)
Requirements
- ScriptHookV
- SHVDN3
Installation
Drag and drop the .dll inside scripts folder
Changelogs
1.0: Base file
2.0: Response to the community—added a few features
- works with broken/already open windows
- works with passengers (bodyguards, protagonists, other game characters, etc.)
- Window breaking animation plays only once initially, but after that, it doesn't. However, if you repair the vehicle, animation again plays once but doesn't afterwards, unless you repair the vehicle, and so on. (this is a limitation of this mod that I tried to fix but couldn't.)
- Script doesn't enable with fist (without equipping any weapons)

@Melz Agreed, will try to work on it, thank recommending though!
@B1gstinker I didn't test with a bodyguard, but it should work, since I made my character sit on different seats and it works fine. But I will test it, and if it doesn't work, I will work on it!
@IreBurn I will work on it, and update it soon!
@Eoin Gaming No, I mean ENT does that on it's own not when both it and your mod are installed. I haven't tried it yet since I forgot to disable the option in ENT.
@Eoin Gaming Could you add an option to automatically close the window after a few seconds?
@AliG_15 wdym bro? it's already there, isn't it?
@Eoin Gaming It stays open for me. How does the auto-close work?
@AliG_15 That's pretty weird... Auto-close works exactly how it sounds- it closes the window automatically. Please make sure it works properly by testing this mod with a window tint modification.
Otherwise, that's strange, and I will look into it.
@Eoin Gaming Hi, I think the latest update has an issue. I downloaded the new version, but now FlashHighBeam seems to be included by mistake.
@AliG_15 Oh no, Im rly sorry
It will be updated soon, right after the file gets approved
Again, rly sorry
I don't mind vibe coding but first play test it a little more pookie :)
@The_Little_Spyro Bro I did T_T
But you know what? fair enough
@Eoin Gaming the thing is you would have to supress the native animation through C# or C++
C# won't give you the right memory manipulation to pull it off correctly unless you're extremely creative
Native GTA V also does not have a smooth window roll down or up functionality
But hey, if you set your mind to it you can :)
I think the best way to do this through C# to prevent the animation from happening is the following
Your current issue is that the window roll down is tied to aiming
It is doing 2 events at the same time now which is a no no because
GTA V native aiming checks if the window is already broken or not
So you would have to make the game think the window is broken while it is actually rolled down
While the first event of the window rolling down is happening add a 300ms delay before the player can actually aim
This way your first event is making the window roll down, give it the broken flag without it visually being broken
Then the second event is the aiming that can't be activated in that 300ms timeframe because it is delayed
And then when it activates it knows window broken so it won't play an animation
Here's 5 stars to motivate you
This is almost kill me everytime you know? My car just finished modified and I found rival gang them I try to ... scale them with my golden gun then my window is broken
@The_Little_Spyro Yo, thanks mate for suggesting all these, I will work on it again after a few days since I don't have the time. And you're right- I need to test the game more. I did a few tests though:
1) aim with player in driver seat
2) aim with player in passenger seats
3) aimed with fist
4) brought bodyguards and gave them weapon
5) tested, with both player and bodyguards, with already broken/opened windows
since those worked, I didn't bother much to test the mod further
and about the window breaking animation, as I mentioned earlier, I will work on it soon. But thank you for your time to leave a potential solution!
Also coding isn't my strong suit, I just wanted to make mods for fun using AI, so I did it, and I was satisfied with my results, so I decided to upload them, but holy shi there are so many errors, 'apparently' that I didn't face myself
Anyways, thank you mate!
@Eoin Gaming No problem dude, end of the day you're still contributing on free will :)
I'd have to agree, when I updated the dont lemme smash mod, I tried a bunch of different methods and the delay was the most simple reliable way to do it.
@dimedius AI is cool, isnt it?
@ Eoin Gaming it has definitely helped open doors and sped up the process for sure.
