WHAT IT HANDLES DIFFERENTLY
A big focus is keeping the weapon you actually have instead of replacing everything with a generic copy.
Found an AR with a scope, suppressor and tint? Pick it up and that supported setup comes with it.
Already carrying your own customized setup? Swapping it doesn't just delete it. Your old weapon is dropped into the world with its setup so you can still see and interact with it.
Weapons with the same model but different attachments are also treated as different setups. A customized gun won't simply be mistaken for generic ammo.
If you already carry the same weapon, walking over another one collects only the ammo it actually has available, typically the loaded magazine and a small number of spare magazines. The ammo source is finite, so the same dropped gun can’t provide unlimited ammunition.

Each position gives you a different way to visually carry your loadout depending on your character, outfit and gameplay style.
Use the quick switch key "J" to change carry styles while playing.
For the Front Carry position, Combat Ready Carry is set by default. You can change the default front carry style within the settings menu on the phone.

FAQ
"Will attachments and tints stay on a weapon I pick up?
YEP! Attachments and tint are captured from the physical weapon and applied when you take it.
So if you find a customized AK MK II, you keep the supported setup that was actually on that AK MK II."
"Will my customized gun turn back into a stock weapon?
NO, normal physical pickup, swapping and dropping are designed to PRESERVE the supported weapon setup instead of replacing it with a plain copy."
"Will my weapons disappear after saving and reloading?"
NO. your carried weapons use GTA V's normal saved inventory rather than a separate mod-created stash.
Save the game normally if you want your current carried setup to become part of that save."
"Are weapons I leave on the ground permanently saved?
No.
Physical ground weapons belong to the current game world and should not be treated as
permanent storage."
"How many weapons can I carry?
The main loadout is unarmed/1 melee type, 1 primary(rifle, shotgun, smg, mg), 1 secondary (pistol), 2 throwable types, 1 heavy weapon and 3 Special categories (nvg, jerrycan, etc)"
"How does ammo work?
Ammo comes from matching weapons.
A Carbine Rifle supplies Carbine Rifle ammo rather than acting as generic ammo for every rifle."
"Can I change C and H?
Yes.
C, H, the 1 - 6 keys and controller shortcuts can all be changed in the INI."
"Does it work during missions?
Yes, but the mod becomes more cautious.
Mission controlled or uncertain weapons are left alone rather than risking an objective."
"Can I use weapon model replacements?
Yes.
Simple model replacements that keep the original vanilla weapon identity are the safest. Larger weapon overhauls may need testing."
"Does it work in GTA Online?
No. Story Mode only."

KNOWN CONFLICT CATEGORIES
- Other Weapon Inventory Managers
Potential conflict because both scripts can control:
weapon ownership
weapon grants/removals
active weapon selection
slot/capacity enforcement
Running two authoritative inventory controllers is not recommended.
- Automatic or Manual Pickup Mods
Potential conflict because both systems may change whether a weapon can be collected and who owns the pickup transaction.
RTL already provides its own physical weapon interaction system.
- Weapon Drop Mods
Potential conflict because another script may create, remove, replace or duplicate the same dropped weapon entities RTL is managing.
- HUD Replacements
Potential conflict when another HUD mod replaces or repositions the top-right weapon/ammunition area.
A HUD conflict is normally a presentation conflict rather than a weapon-state conflict, but it should still be tested.
- Weapon Persistence / Restoration Scripts
Potential conflict when another mod repeatedly restores weapons after RTL deliberately exchanges, rejects or physically drops them.

@ConstasJ If you already purchased every weapon before using RTL, GTA considers them permanently owned, so Ammu-Nation normally won’t let you purchase the same weapon again.
RTL currently reacts to a new weapon purchase, which is why there isn’t a normal Ammu-Nation way to re-equip an already-owned weapon once it is outside your current loadout.

I tried your mod and it’s really cool! I also watched your showcase video, and I noticed you’re using some other mods as well. Could you tell me which mods you’re using for the gunplay and gun sounds? I really like how they look and sound in your video

@Entrance Thanks!!
I use Immersive Combat 1.8 by Artupaky01, But it was not compatible with RDE 4.1.4 and E&E 1.2.0 so I made a custom version that fits my RDE 4.1.4 and E&E 1.2.0 setup. (He just updated to 1.91 2 days ago and apparently its compatible with RDE, feel free to try it out)
Other related mods:
Realistic WeaponFX, Better Bullet Hit 1.1 by AaronPvP

Hey @pointmeatthesky124 sorry to hear that and thanks for reporting this.
Could you add me on discord and please send me:
ScriptHookVDotNet.log
RealisticTacticalLoadout.logWhether you are using any other mods that modify weapon pickups, inventory, weapons, ammo or player loadouts?
Once I have the logs, I can check exactly where the crash is occurring instead of guessing at the cause.
Thanks

Hey @Triggaa
I am facing some issues after mission or when I am trying to buy a weapon from store. I am playing GTA 5 enhanced 1013.20. I am a developer myself, mainly JS and Java so let me know if we can make this mod much better. This is very close to what most of the players want!!!!!

@PANDITji1998 thanks for the feedback and reporting the issues. It'd be awesome if we can discuss further on discord!

@Triggaa yes I also commented on your YouTube video. The discord link you have shared for dream team, I am unable to find your account there.

@alsaucrballin25 Ensure you have the proper ScriptHookVDotNet installed. And make sure your contact list on your ifruitaddon are over 45 or more.
If contact list still doesn't show, dm on on discord ill get it sorted for you.

May I ask if this mod can add an option to turn off the weapon icons in the top right corner of the screen? Also, I found a trunk storage system for vehicles that perfectly complements your weapon system, allowing you to keep weapon attachments and colors: https://gta5mod.net/gta-5-mods/scripts/inventory-v-v1-0/. The original link might have script errors on the enhanced version, but I fixed this bug. You can check it out on GTAmod. Games are awesome thanks to high-quality creators like you!

WHAT'S NEW IN v1.5
Sorry for the wait, and thank you for your patience! This is the update you’ve been waiting for!!
I took extra time because I wanted RTL to offer something unique, unlike others just simply copy the look of GTA VI and rush out an unfinished mod. The focus has been on adding meaningful gameplay features, improving customization and addressing the issues you’ve reported.
Many of the changes below came directly from your requests and feedback. Thank you for helping shape this update!
NEW FEATURES
• New In-Game Settings Menu
Open Phone → Contacts → Tactical Loadout to change RTL settings without leaving the game.
• Controller Phone Bug Fixed
Fixed the issue where the phone could appear unexpectedly when using a controller.
• Weapon Wheel On / Off
Choose whether to enable or disable the weapon wheel.
• Pickup Animations & Prompts
Pick up weapons with an animation and an on-screen interaction prompt. The pickup prompt can be enabled or disabled in Settings.
• Physical Weapon Throwing & Impact Damage
Thrown weapons can physically hit NPCs and deal damage depending on the weapon and impact. Bladed and sharp weapons will have greater impact damage compared with ordinary blunt weapons.
• 4 Visible Weapon Carry Styles
Choose how weapons slung on your character and NPCs equipped with long guns will have 4 random visible carry styles.
Rested Front - Patrol Carry: A relaxed front slung position for an everyday patrol appearance.
Combat Ready Front - Ready Access Carry: A higher, closer to the firing hand position for a more prepared tactical appearance.
Shoulder Back - Transport Carry: A traditional behind the shoulder position that leaves the front of the body clear.
Cross-Back Sling - Cross-Body Carry: A diagonal back position for a hands free, long gun transport appearance.
• Quick Carry Switching & Front Carry Adjustment
Press J to switch between 3 carry positions. Combat Ready Front Carry is configured by default, Front Carry can be adjusted through the Settings Menu.
• Custom / MP Character Presets
Improved visible weapon support for compatible custom characters, MP Male and MP Female, with presets to help fit your loadout.
• Adjustable Player & NPC Weapon Positions
Fine tune weapon placement to better suit different characters, body shapes, outfits and NPC models.
Feel free to ask questions, report any bugs, or share feature suggestions
Your feedback are always welcome!
I hope you guys enjoy!
