FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q1: I downloaded the .rar archive, but it isn't an .OIV file. How can I install the pack?
- Open the .rar archive with WinRaR (or any other file archiver program), click on the "Vanillaworks Extended - Download links.txt" file, and download the pack from one of the links provided in the file.
Q2: I opened the .rar archive and there’s only “content”, “content.xml” and “icon.png” files inside.
- Update your file archiver (7Zip/WinRaR/etc.) to the latest version.
Q3: I tried to open the .rar archive but it says that the file is corrupted.
- Try opening it with a different file archiver (7Zip instead of WinRaR for example). If that doesn’t work, redownload the pack using one of the mirror links (Google Drive/MediaFire/MEGA) that can be found inside the "Vanillaworks Extended - Download Links.txt" file.
Q4: With this pack installed the game either crashes or freezes during the loading screen.
- You're not on the latest copy of the game or you need to use a different gameconfig.
Q5: With this pack installed I'm not able to complete/start any of the story mode missions.
- Replace the gameconfig.xml file with the one created by F7YO.
Q6: I replaced my gameconfig with the one mentioned above, but I'm still not able to complete/start any missions.
- Temporarily disable your mods folder by going to the main directory of Grand Theft Auto V and renaming your mods folder to "_mods" (without quotations). Then go back ingame, complete the mission(s), save, quit the game, rename your "_mods" folder back to "mods" (without quotations).
Q7: After installing this pack I experience texture loss ingame. How can I fix this?
- It may be that the vehicles included in this pack are too much for your PC to handle. To fix it, you can try restoring the popcycle.dat, popgroups.ymt & vehiclemodelsets.meta files to the original ones to stop the vehicles with high quality liveries from spawning in traffic which should help with the texture loss, but doing that means you won't be able to see any of the pack vehicles spawn in traffic.
Q8: Do the vehicles included in this pack spawn naturally in traffic?
- Yes. Most of the vehicles included in this pack spawn naturally.
Q9: I've installed IVPack, Realism Dispatch Enhanced, World of Variety and/or some other mod that modifies the NPC traffic, and I don't see the vehicles from this pack spawning in traffic anymore. How can I fix this?
- Follow the steps mentioned in the "How to edit popgroups.ymt.txt" file located in the Options - Compatibility Patches folder inside the downloaded Vanillaworks Extended Pack 2.4.rar archive.
Q10: While driving around the game world, I only see a handful of different vehicles in the traffic. How can I increase the variety of the traffic?
- Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V, open the "settings.xml" file and search for "VehicleVarietyMultiplier", and then increase the value of it to a value between 1.1 and 2.0.
NOTE: This will increase VRAM usage while ingame.
Q11: While driving around the game world, certain newer DLC vehicles despawn as I get close to them. How can I fix this?
- This is caused by the developers of the game adding a script to the game that despawns all newer DLC vehicles in the game once they've spawned in. To get around this, install a trainer such as Menyoo, Simple Trainer or any other trainer that prevents DLC vehicles from despawning.
Q12: I experience random game crashes while traveling around the game world. How can I fix them?
- Replace the popcycle.dat, popgroups.ymt & vehiclemodelsets.meta files with the original ones.
Q13: Is this pack compatible with the GTA 5 Redux mod? If not, will it ever be compatible?
- No. The pack is not compatible with Redux and never will be.
Q14: Where can I see a list of all the vehicles included in this pack?
- Here.

The previous versions of this pack are available here.
NOTE: The pack version that correlates to a specific game version has not been listed anywhere. If you're looking for an older pack version to use on an older game version, you'll need to go through the previous changelogs (linked above at the end of the changelog section) to find out which version of the game the pack supports. A fantastic mod that works flawlessly if you use the right patches, though it's starting to show its age and has a few lingering bugs.
For example, the van in the "Chop" mission can glitch out, one of the box vans has a broken purple texture, and you might experience rare crashes even with updated adjusters.
I'm knocking off half a star because the mod feels abandoned, lacks ongoing support, and doesn't include a manual installation method.
This mod sucks if i download it it crashes my game get a better script bro
The comments saying "Works flawlessly you all are just stupid" with 0 explanation is the wrong answer that doesn't help anyone. There is so many different variations to why 2 people can do the exact same thing and it work for one person and not the other. Everyone has a different PC set up. What works for you may not work for someone else.
completely bricked my game and has no automated uninstaller DO NOT DOWNLOAD
@exelilr very fun mod. Doge respects
One of the best mod i have ever experienced, i hope it receives an update
Do not install this bullshit, it breaks your game.
Good mod until the problems start to show up after some time... I do not recommend these vanillaworks packs
If someone experience crashes on startup, you should try changing the gameconfig that comes with the installer for this one
https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars
and
using this popgroups and popcycle included in this mod
https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/cops-on-patrol-vanillaworks-extended-gta-v1-0-3725-0
Btw someones game crashes when using the benson (when it impacts with something), i tried replacing with the original of TheF3nt0n but it doesn't work and i dont sacrifice the beautiful design of it with the vanilla :,(
Why are these not hosted here?
Hi ! I was experiencing crashes for a long time, so for those who need help i found my own fix !
My game was hard crashing on loading and there was no clue what made this happen.
I would recommend using the latest gameconfig available, obviously, but also installing every OIV package using OIV Package Installer by CoreFX & CodeWalker (you can find it on this website), this mods enable you to cleanly install your OIV files and uninstalling them even if there ain't an uninstaller package included with the file.
Before installing an .OIV package, make sure all target directories (like x64/audio/sfx/) are already copied into your mods folder. Otherwise, .OIV scripts will silently skip files due to the createIfMissing=false rule, leading to missing files or crashes.
Hope this could help, God bless y'all
@CHECKGAMES legacy or enhanced?
@Gagefan123 anyway you can send me the compiled file? email would work pls.
@checo92 legacy
@CHECKGAMES Still didn't fix anything, I can only hear the game now still just a black screen. Idk what the issue is this used to always work fine for me until a few updates ago.
@Sparky ggs bro install every requirements in the description and also install a custom gameconfig from like @F7YO and install the latest and get the stock or 1x file and try to launch game with vanilla works i did it and it worked for me
@Sparky ggs also make sure to replace the gameconfig with the @F7YO ones after u install vanillaworks if u dont ur game will crash n thing
Trying to get this to work for 3 days. INFURIATING. I will literally pay someone to help do this for me.
Alright, this is for anyone who needs some assistance in getting this pack to work as well as enjoying it alongside another amazing mod, RDE (Optional). I've tested this a good amount of times which I'll go into detail about at the bottom of my comment, so read that if you'd like. I advise strictly following my steps to a T, as I had to ignore some steps/requirements of this mod and RDE & VWE to get these mod packs to work. Since GTA 6 will be here soon I figured why not try to get this pack running again, and I did!
!! ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR VANILLA GTA 5 FOLDER BEFORE INSTALLING ANYTHING !!
I would like to apologize in advance for how big this comment is but with everyone asking how to get this pack to work I figured I'd do so myself, and just make a detailed explanation on how I did it. Right below are the instructions;
INSTALLING VANILLAWORKS EXTENDED
1. Firstly you're going to want to get the regular prerequisites, which of what I chose is the following:
https://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/
https://github.com/scripthookvdotnet/scripthookvdotnet-nightly/releases
https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/packfile-limit-adjuster
https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/ymap-load-list-extent-limit-fix-fwboxstreamervariable-patch
https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/heapadjuster
https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/simple-trainer-for-gtav
https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/menyoo-2-0 [This is the new one not the old one that's deprecated]
2. Now you just want to install Vanillaworks Required, then Vanillaworks Scenarios via OpenIV Package Installer.
Now, go ahead and load up the game, and it will crash, but don't worry just follow these steps below.
Install this exact Gameconfig:
https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars
Place that in here: mods/update/update.rpf/common/data
This time the game should start right up, and if you experience any crashes or problems (you shouldn't) install Resource adjuster which is linked below.
Have Fun! You're good from here if you just wanted to install Vanillaworks alone.
Now if you want to play with RDE as well, which I recommend as it is very cool with all the content you'll have with both of the packs, then follow the steps below.
{INSTALLING REBALANCED DISPATCH ENHANCED, & OPTIONALLY RDE E&E}
!! When Installing RDE Make Sure It's Version 4.1.3 !!
1. Install Resource Adjuster https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/resource-adjuster
2. Install RDE https://www.lcpdfr.com/downloads/gta5mods/misc/9266-rebalanced-dispatch-enhanced/
3. Install RDE & VWE https://www.lcpdfr.com/downloads/gta5mods/misc/53258-rde-vwe-compatibility-patch/
4. Launch the game (It will crash then ask you to change a pool size in the gameconfig, follow the steps below)
5. Launch OpenIV and navigate to mods/update/update.rpf/common/data
6. Scroll down until you see gameconfig.xml, Right click it and then select edit.
7. Type 16 into the searchbar, tap the down arrow to get there, then change that value to 100 and click save.
That's it for RDE & VWE! This is the current game I have installed, and I recommend sticking to this one as it will probably be more stable as you're playing with less content. If you can't resist and need to install E&E then the steps below should work.
^^ When Installing RDE & VWE Only Follow Steps 2,3, & 6 ^^
[Only if you want to use RDE E&E] Install It And Make Sure It's Version 1.1.4
https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/rde-expanded-enhanced-thatspella
Repeat step 6 of the instructions from RDE & VWE and you should be golden. NOTE: I have not tried E&E just yet but in the past I was able to get it to work, though it wasn't as stable as just regular RDE & VWE.
Sidenote: This may have just been because of my specific specs, but I had noticed the game preformed slightly better once I installed RDE. (This was in present installation not in the past)
SHORT DESCRIPTION ON MY EXPERIENCE WITH INSTALLING THIS MODPACK
I was able to get this pack to work the same as I'm playing the game right now with these mods in the past. When I installed this setup in the past I don't remember the steps I described above being exactly the same, nonetheless I have it set up perfectly now until the new game comes out. Until then I hope you guys are able to get some sort of support from this comment when trying to setup this great pack.
As for playing with this setup (RDE & VWE NO E&E) I probably would get a good solid 2 maybe 2 1/2-3 hours (pray) of play before I'd crash. The only other crashes were when I'd get in too big a police chase and there was too many cops spawning, and installing too many mods besides the aforementioned ones. I would only really have minor lag here and there, mainly in the northern region and when I would get to the more dense areas of the Paleto Forests.
As I mentioned I'd crash after installing other mods besides these two, note, giant mod packs and it doesn't take much to do it. All I could get installed was Walter's Trains: Definitive Edition, replaced the 3 semi trucks, and a 24/7 MLO and that was it. I also want to note I'm not a computer guy so I'll say most games run smoothly and like I said I didn't lag too horribly while playing with these large mod packs, so just be careful what you install besides these two/three if you choose E&E.
! For Anyone Who May Have Any Trouble Reply To My Comment And I'll Try To Get Back To You And Help !
I'm usually pretty active on here so I should respond within a few days.
Thank you to everyone who has helped others in threads above me and as well as the guy who replied to me just a few comments above @miles83679475. If it weren't for him and his comment I probably would've procrastinated doing this and never of come back to get it done.
For the end of my paragraph (again apologies I know it gets annoying in the comment section) I just want to thank the amazing modders who took the time to lovingly and meticulously make these amazing mods and then share them with us to enjoy! You guys are all amazing along with the work you guys never stop creating, can't wait to see what else is in store.
@Sparky ggs why specifically version 4.1.3 for RDE and not the latest version, also is there really no way to completely prevent crashes?, my game is smooth but for some reason will randomly crash quite frequently, my game will freeze for a second and then my game will instantly close with no warning or explanation (no crash logs are produced), idk why it's happening, nothing shows up on scripthookdotnet or even pool manager, sometimes I can run the game for an hour or more without crashing, sometimes it crashes within 10 minutes, I have no idea what the cause of my crashes are.
