READ DESCRIPTION PLEASE:
Ever missed how cars felt in GTA IV — heavy, floaty, leaning hard into corners, suspension that kept bouncing instead of snapping flat? This mod brings that feel back to ordinary cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs, tuned live in-game — no file editing, no restarts.
Every eligible vehicle gets a proportional suspension overhaul: softer springs, reduced compression/rebound damping, more wheel travel, a slight ride-height lift, reduced anti-roll resistance, and a lowered roll-centre — combining into that unmistakable IV lean-and-float. Mass and rotational inertia are increased too: heavier off the line, harder to spin or shove around in a collision, without touching top speed.
Excluded by default: Supercars, motorcycles, and bicycles (toggleable — handy if you run modded vehicles).
Always excluded: boats, planes, helicopters, and trains — this mod is about ordinary road cars, not exotics or vehicles the effect was never designed for.
Press F7 for the in-game tuning menu — a full slider panel with mouse and controller support.
Adjust suspension force, damping, travel, ride height, anti-roll bar, roll-centre height, mass, and rotational inertia. Changes save automatically.
Press F8 to toggle the whole mod on or off instantly, cleanly restoring vanilla stats.
(Modded values may hang even after disabled)
-------INSTALL--------
Built for GTA V Enhanced running ScriptHookVDotNet.

------CHANGELOG----
Changelog (cleaned up + v1.4 added)
v1.0:
Initial release.
v1.2:
Fixed a bug where all vehicles would suddenly get a physics update, causing a visible nudge.
Fixed an issue where the .ini file saved to the Desktop instead of the scripts folder.
v1.3:
Added a Rotational Inertia slider (separate from Mass) — controls how hard a vehicle is to spin.
Added controller support in the tuning menu (D-pad / Frontend controls alongside keyboard).
Added mouse support — point-and-click-drag sliders with an on-screen cursor.
Added vehicle-class toggles: Super Cars, Motorcycles, Bicycles (useful for modded vehicles).
Full UI redesign — new pink/sleek look, moved to the top-left corner, larger info/instruction/footer text.
Removed toggle buttons for Helicopters/Boats/Planes/Trains — these stay permanently excluded rather than user-selectable, since suspension tuning was never meant to apply to aircraft/trains.
v1.3.1: Legacy build:
Added a separate build of the mod for legacy GTA V.
v1.4 (LATEST VERSION)
Added custom hotkey support for both the Enhanced and Legacy builds — set ToggleKey and MenuKey in the .ini file to rebind the on/off and menu keys (defaults stay F8 / F7).
(Make sure to hit "insert" on keyboard to reload script after changing the hotkey in the ini file.
Otherwise it won't work.

I have released: Liberty Damage.
Same thing as this mod, only this time you can live tune vehicle damage, with some toggles to keep gameplay in tact.

@VX1911
ooh
Why is it in the picture u uploaded i can see an option to turn the mod on for player vehicle only. But when i open the options menu in my game there is no setting like that?
@xesob it was a test build. It didnt work. I could not get it to work at all. So its removed from the final build.
does this work on addon cars ?
@Nazee_ It should for most part. But i can't guarantee it will work on all custom vehicles.
@VX1911 I'd really love to see this develop further with more values, I still don't feel like the Inertia values work, would also love to see some drag added
Of course this are not requests, just wishes being expressed, this mod is great as it is now
But I still feel like that slugginess of the original IV vehicles is something that it lacks, and it's probably the drag and the other inertia values that make the vehicle harder to accelerate and harder to stop
@thalilmythos thanks for the feedback. Gta v has never been closer to the gta iv physics as it is now in my opinion. I have tapped into most settings that are available, but i will still do tweaks and future updates to improve it.
Where's the ini? Also F7 doesn't bring up a menu for me. I unbinded it so it doesn't make me switch to Trevor. I'm on enhanced. Thanks.
@jj67 The ini does not appear until you run the script in the game.
Do you get a message pop up above the mini map saying that libertySuspesion is now active?
If not, you have the wrong scripthook.
@VX1911 The mod does work, cars feel heavier and whatnot, but i didn't get a popup. What's the correct version of scripthook for e&e?
I am using the one released on GitHub by Chiheb-Bacha
@jj67 two months old the one from github.
Just google scripthook enhanced and download the latest
@VX1911 That did not work. Is there any other requirements? I'm using the one posted by the same creator on this websiet.
@jj67 i uploaded the scripthook i use here: https://limewire.com/d/pFGgf#KxnlKtEVrw
the mod is great and is working just fine on legacy.
only suggestion i really have it the option to disable certain class vehicles like emergency for example or individual ones since some modded emergency vehicles do act wonky or suspension is too high for liking
@VX1911 Hi. Could you please add an option to enable full-time 4WD/AWD? That would be a very useful feature. Thank you!
@VX1911 Hello! The default settings of the suspension mod seem a bit too extreme. There is excessive body roll from side to side when cornering, as well as too much body movement during braking and acceleration.
Could you recommend some settings that would provide a good balance between the game's original handling and the improvements introduced by your mod?
Thank you for your work and for any advice you can offer!
@VX1911 Hi! I’m using both Liberty Damage and Liberty Suspension in GTA V Enhanced.
I’ve noticed occasional frametime spikes and short stutters in areas with heavy vehicle traffic.
Would it be possible to make both mods affect only the vehicle currently being driven by the player, rather than all vehicles in traffic?
This would be ideal for performance and stability, while still allowing the player to enjoy the effects of both mods on their own vehicle.
Thank you for your work and for considering this suggestion!
