And I'm just going to join your discord and leave a more detailed list of suggestions and feedback, makes it easier.
@andre500 Just saw your reply about the game config, I like what you have planned. I do understand that this program released less than 2 weeks ago, so it's already impressive in what it currently offers. I'll keep my eyes peeled for updates and work around the current limitations.
Do updates break the setup though?
@andre500
Suggestion: manual drag-to-set load order for conflicting mods
RDE and NVE conflict, and I want RDE to win. Immersive Santos also conflicts with both of them. I want RDE to overwrite Immersive Santos, and Immersive Santos to overwrite NVE.
In ModDropV I can't easily set that. Each mod only gets one "overwrite" setting (on top), so putting a mod on top makes it overwrite everything. I can't say "this mod beats that one but not the other."
I'd like a way to set the order by hand, such as dragging mods into a conflict priority list. The order for this case would be:
RDE (overwrites everything below)
Immersive Santos (overwrites NVE)
NVE
A dragged load order system would be the simplest (Like MO2 or Lenny's Mod Loader for RDR2) but there are probably other methods. Another thing, I'd like it if there were a "fake" name that could be changed when you install a mod. Because when I installed a scripts folder in ModdropV it just says scripts with no indication of what's in it, so I had to disable it, apply, then look in the scripts folder for what was disabled to know what mod it was. If I could rename it from scripts visually to the mod's actual name that would also be helpful. Only fix now is to create a folder with the name you want to appear and import it.
@andre500 Oh, and this was mentioned already, but profiles would also be very helpful. I'm testing mods on Enhanced Scripthook and Nightly, but you can't just disable one of the scripthooks, you have to delete it THEN install the other scripthook which is tedious.
Reason being that since the two scripthooks share the same file names disabling one and enabling the other doesn't actually work.
@andre500 How exactly does the Smart Adjustment for the Gameconfig work? I'm a bit concerned that since we aren't allowed control over the Gameconfig we may run into issues. I also noticed that when there are multiple mods with their own Gameconfig, you are prompted to choose the mod winner.
The issue with that is that if I had a mod that needs to overwrite another mod, yet it's gameconfig isn't as good as the other mod's gameconfig, there's no way to simply delete the gameconfig from the mod I want to win. That is where more advanced user controls would be helpful. I really like ModdropV, and to be honest now that I've started using it I can't see myself ever going back. It saves so much time debugging problematic mods, without it one f#ck up would equal deleting the entire mods folder and redoing everything.
But advanced user controls are needed. I have some OIV's where I'd manually delete parts, merge two files together (RDE + Drive V for example), etc. Because I don't think I can still use OpenIV for those use case scenarios, can I? ModdropV should also allow import of .ini and config files (Plus the editing of them).
But other than that, I really like your program, and I hope to see it grow more!
This mod is incompatible with Immersify, that's why the blip goes bye bye. Besides that though, doesn't seem like there's much to do with your companion. Unless I misunderstand some mechanics, you can't drink/play darts/ do any vanilla activities.
Just seems like they're there for flavor and nothing else.
@DonDonny Betttttt, if you add support to your other mods I'll snag those too
Installed some mods into the MPFemale rpf, nothing shows up in game. Tried hair, decl, and head diff's,
Too bad this isn't a Nightly script, can't use RDE with the Enhanced one. Great mod though!
@Dealien When I call the contact and set up a meeting the blip pops up for a second and then disappears
