Visit the Animal Ark Pet Store in Hawick to adopt, name, customize, command, and ride 18 unique animals, complete with Guard / Bodyguard combat AI, fetch, pet care stats, and full controller support.

- 18 Adoptable Animals: Choose from Dogs (Golden Retriever, Rottweiler, Husky, Australian Shepherd, Poodle, Pug, Westie), Domestic Cats, Exotic Animals (Mountain Lion, Coyote, Chimp, Rhesus Monkey), Farm Animals (Pig, Cow, Wild Boar), and Birds (Hen, Seagull, Crow, Cormorant).
- Guard and Bodyguard Mode: Toggle Guard Mode on capable pets to turn them into active bodyguards with an orange radar blip that automatically detect and attack armed threats or enemies targeting you.
- Rideable Animal Mounts and Ram Attacks: Mount and ride large animals (Cow, Wild Boar, Mountain Lion, Retriever, Rottweiler, Husky, Shepherd) with custom saddle offsets, sprinting, jumping, and high-speed Ram / Charge attacks that send enemies and vehicles flying.
- Play Fetch, Tricks and Pet Care: Equip a Baseball and throw it for your dog to fetch and return to your feet. Perform animations (Sit, Sleep, Bark, Beg), customize coat variants, and maintain Hunger, Happiness, and Health.
- Smart Vehicle Riding: Companions automatically enter available passenger seats or hop into the rear cargo bed of pickup trucks.
- Full Controller and Keyboard Support: Seamlessly navigate menus and issue pet commands using Xbox or PlayStation gamepads or Keyboard.
- Auto-Saving XML Storage: Persistent pet roster, names, stats, inventory, and Guard Mode settings saved automatically.

Will the mod work with SHVDNE on the legacy build? Also, are controller buttons configurable?
There used to be a really great pet mod, but it’s become quite outdated. Is it possible to make it so that pets can get into cars?
This is exactly the kind of mod that keeps story mode fresh for me. The guard dog mode sounds perfect for those north Yankton-style shootouts. And mrsun, looks like you're in luck - the description says companions hop into passenger seats (or the truck bed) on their own, so no more leaving your dog behind at the gas station. Downloading now, will report back on how the fetch minigame holds up.
