Realistic Carjacking V overhauls the carjacking mechanic in Grand Theft Auto V, replacing instant teleports and erratic driver panic with realistic stopping delays, warning shot reactions, and aggressive retaliation.
Features
Realistic Emergency Stop: Drivers hit the brakes immediately when targeted and pause for 1 second before stepping out.
Warning Shot Reactions: Firing a warning shot anywhere near the driver — including up into the air—forces them to immediately drop down and cover their face in fear.
Hostile Drivers (30% Chance): Male drivers have a 30% chance to pull out a pistol and engage in a gunfight instead of surrendering.
Intimidation System: Aiming keeps compliant drivers surrendering with their hands up. Stop aiming, and they panic and run for their lives.
Clean Single-Target AI: Ensures target locking stays focused on one driver without glitching traffic or unintended NPCs.
Requirements
ScriptHookV
Community ScriptHookVDotNet v3.0.0+
Installation
Copy RealisticCarjackingV.cs into your GTAV/scripts/ folder.
Changelog
V2.0
New NPC Archetype System (Non-Aggressive Drivers):
50% Pleading: Drivers beg for mercy, raise their hands, and plead for their lives.
25% Defiant: Drivers curse and talk back before surrendering the vehicle.
25% Rich: Drivers panic and drop cash ($50–$250) on the ground as they exit.
Cash Drop System: Rich NPCs drop physical stacks of cash on the pavement upon leaving the vehicle.
Dynamic Driver Responses & Facial Expressions:
Added original GTA V native ambient voice calls for frightened/provoked NPC reactions.
Driver responses now display unique English subtitles tailored to their archetype.
Added facial stress/fear animations (mood_stressed_1) on threatened NPCs.
Refined Threat & Aiming Sequence:
Aiming at a vehicle now causes instant emergency braking and handbrake lock.
Player character automatically triggers an opening threat subtitle ("Get out of the car! Now!") right as the vehicle stops.
Enhanced E Key Interaction:
Pressing E while aiming triggers a player dismissal subtitle ("Get outta here!" / "Get lost!").
Added a precise 0.4-second panic delay after pressing E before the NPC turns and flees.
Overhauled Warning Shot Mechanics:
Firing near an occupied car now forces the driver to instantly panic and abandon the vehicle.
Firing near an exited NPC triggers a cower animation without breaking the hands-up logic, followed by a fast flee.
Vehicle Aiming Restriction: Script no longer triggers if the player is aiming while inside another vehicle.
v1.0
- Initial release with emergency stopping and aggressive driver retaliation mechanics.
- 1-second hesitation delay after bringing vehicles to a complete stop.
- Warning shot recognition (triggers cowering animation).

similar to gta iv.very epic
@Snacer Thanks for the feedback, do you have any ideas on how I could improve this mod?
@Eldar23 make them actually hands up for a little longer so it would feel realistic, but if you shoot him he will run away.
@Snacer Good idea, I’ll work on that today. Should I add a feature where, when you press E, the player tells the NPC to get lost, and the NPC runs away in fear?
This may sound dumb but i don't have a GTAV/scripts folder and i tried the mod by putting it into just my GTAV folder but it didn't work got any idea how to fix that?
@Eldar23 good job, buddy. By the way, is it possible for you to create a mod where if we ram our car into an NPC's car, they demand money for the damages or call the cops if we don't?
@trx50k @trx50k No this is normal you have to put the scripts Folder yourself in just klick new folder and name it "scripts" and there you put the mod in
@trx50k Yes, you can create this folder yourself or move the "scripts" folder directly from my RAR file.
@ComeFlyWithMe Yes, that can be done, but there is already a mod for that: Crash Encounters [.NET]
By the chance,i recommend adding a reaction by other npcs to come in (thay may sound very hard to make) just an idea.
@Snacer That's a good idea, I'll try to implement it.
@Eldar23 thanks for the recommendation. I was unaware of it.
@trx50k install scripthook v3 then create a scripts folder
is this compatable with GTA enhanced?
@beavers Yes, fully compatible. Just make sure you have ScriptHookV and ScriptHookVDotNet installed in your main GTA V game root folder
is this compatible with nightly?
@holden111111x Yes, i already test it
Will this mod also make npcs run over you, not always stop and surrender vehicle?
Good idea, but it's doesn't work so
