Random Dirty Cars 1.21

Download
This is a re-upload of my mod.

This mod was in response to a request in this thread: https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/4625/script-misc-dirt-effects

For anyone who wants to add more zones to the ini file, here is a list of all the zones in A - Z order on my Google Drive
A - Z Zone Names List

The mod works by defining each vehicle class with a range of values that dirt can be applied in. Some have a straight 0 to 8 type of range, others might set a bottom limit, so it would be something like 3 to 11. The highest value of dirt that can be applied, is 15, that limit is set by the game, not this mod.

As well as that range, there is also a dirty-zone bias value. That applies to what the mod classes as "dirty-zones", which are typically a collection of several zones in the desert area. These zones can be added to, by adding more entries in the ini file. To go with these zones, there is also a dirt bias value. This is added on top of any values that have been generated, to make things extra-dirty.

Also in the ini file, you can change how far away the game will look for new cars, to apply the dirt value to. By default this is set to 100 but you can increase or decrease that as you see fit. The smaller the number, the more chance there is of cars being changed when they are closer to you. Higher numbers will collect cars further away but will also collect more cars at a time. I haven't seen any performance hits from using this but it might happen, so be aware of that when you are using higher values.

The way the mod keeps track of the cars, is by their registration plate. I am pretty confident that any vehicle generated and spawned by the game, is given a unique number plate, just like real life. So as it finds new vehicles, it stores those number plates, so it will never apply a new value to a car twice... unless you reset the mod.

Installation:
Simply drop the dll and the ini file into your scripts folder, that's it... no keys, no controls, it simply works. If you want to disable the mod, change the ACTIVE value in the ini file to FALSE and hit insert. This will leave all vehicles with their last-set dirt levels.

I really don't believe this mod requires the use of a key to control it, another mod could make better use of that unused key.

ini file values:
[DIRTY ZONES]
These define the zones that are classed as extra-dirty. The names must match the names used in the game for them to be recognised. Each zone must be in an entry like this:

ZONE = Zone Name

[SETTINGS]
ACTIVE - Controls if the mod is active or not, set this to either TRUE or FALSE, default is TRUE
SEARCH RANGE - Controls how far away the mod will search for cars to apply a dirt level to, default is 100. Setting this too high, might impact performance
DIRT BIAS - Controls how much extra dirt will be applied in the dirty zones, default is 3. Please note: No matter what you set this to, tthere is a maximum limit of 15 that can be used to set the dirt level. This limit is set by the game, not this mod.

Please make sure you also have the latest versions of these installed

If anyone is confused as to what happened with these mods, I did something stupid, had them all removed, made some improvements and wanted to put them back as I felt it was selfish of me to not give people access to those improvements. Sorry for any confusion. :(

I will pin this comment to all my mods so people know what happened.

I just want to add my thanks for the positive support on this and my other mods. Please don't feel obligated to re-rate though, the mods are back because those who download them deserve to have my support if things go wrong. I enjoy making them because people seem to enjoy using them... that's my reward.

Hello! What can I do to find more dirty cars in center on the town?

    Currently, I set:

    DIRT BIAS = 15

    SEARCH RANGE = 1000

What is the maximum quantity that may be entered in the SEARCH RANGE?

Can you add your [DIRTY ZONES] or street names to see more dirty?

@Remix The DIRT BIAS applies to those zones that are in the [DIRTY ZONES] section of the ini file. If you want to add more zones, then you can enter the names into that section but they have to exactly match the name the game expects. I don't have a list but I can probably make one... I'll try and do that tonight and add it to the mod description tomorrow and I can also add that information to the readme with the mod in future.

Certain cars in the centre of town won't ever have a dirt level that high, no matter what the dirt bias is. But if you do set it to 15 and then add those zones to the ini file, everything will have full dirt levels, which will make it no different to having all clean vehicles. The dirt bias gets added on top of any values that are calculated.

You shouldn't need a value that high in the search range though, anything more than 100 will just slow the mod down as anything beyond that probably hasn't spawned yet. 100 is far enough away that you can't see the dirt level change but not so far as it collects too many vehicles.

I will tag you in a reply when I get the list of zone names.

@Remix There is a Zone Name list added to the top of the description, so you can use those names to add to the ini file. These are collected straight from the game, so make sure to use them exactly as they are written.

    @LeeC2202

    When I set:

    DIRT BIAS = 15

    SEARCH RANGE = 100

And I will add all A - Z Zone Names Letter to [DIRTY ZONES] I will meet more frequently contaminated vehicles in the city and other areas? But I could also meet clean?

I care about the realism of the game to be able to meet both clean and dirty car virtually anywhere :)

I will be testing it alone soon.

Btw. Is there a way to change the texture of dirt for a more realistic and more visible in a higher resolution? :)

@Remix If you add the whole list and set DIRT BIAS to 15, you will never see a completely clean vehicle. In fact, every vehicle will be completely dirty because you set the bias to the maximum value. If you want to see clean vehicles then you need to leave some zones out of that section of the ini file and you also need to set the bias value much lower. I wouldn't recommend anything above 5.

I think there are some higher resolution dirt maps on this site but I am not sure if they are more realistic. I think every vehicle uses the same dirt map.
