@alphazolam This is really a great mod and I'm using it as a regular basis, this is as funny as hell so a huge thanks from me.
Unfortunately I've discovered that the game engine does not compute correctly the damage of peds when they're falling on the ground, as I discuss here in gtaforums:
So basically if you pick and raise up a ped and let him fall down he won't die unless he touch another object or surface.
Do you think this could be correctable in some ways?
Hi all!
First, a huge thanks to the creators of this Mod, this is a big work (and absolutely necessary IMHO). Yesterday I installed the files with OpenIV, but the game was always crashing during initial loading. So I made some tests and found out that the problem is with the update.rpf\common\data\ai\weaponcomponents.meta file: as soon as I replaced it with the original one, all worked perfectly.
I didn't find out what is the exact cause, but I can say that I've the version 372 and Ill Gotten Gains installed (but not part 2 so I don't have the patchday5ng folder). Maybe there are some required files that I'm missing?
I hope that my experience will be useful.
So here are my suggestions for improving GTA Realism:
- Find out and fix the weaponcomponents.meta problem. If a DLC or a specific version of game has to be installed, this should be specified inside the README files and mod description as a requirement.
- The download link point to unpacked files only, correct the description or upload the ready-to-use .rpf files too.
- Decrease the bullet damage for vehicles (they explode too early, maybe because bullets traverse the outer structure and they hit directly the engine / fuel tank?)
- I couldn't find out how to tweak the peds damage as they hit the ground after falling. This is a general unrealistic feature of GTA (falling from 30-40 m heights does not produce any serious damage, that's ridiculous), do you have ideas on how to fix this?
