Ever wanted your character to actually light up and smoke a cigarette on command, not just stand frozen in place like GTA V's own ambient smoking scenario forces NPCs to do? This mod gives you a simple toggle hotkey that puts a lit cigarette in your character's hand and keeps it there while you go about your business.
Features
Toggle smoking on/off with a single hotkey (L by default)
Cigarette stays visibly in your character's hand the entire time smoking is on walking, running, driving, doesn't matter
Animated puffing motion (cigarette raised to the mouth) plays while standing still or walking
Smart suspension the puffing animation automatically pauses while running, sprinting, or in any vehicle, so it never fights the game's own arm-pump animation or breaks the procedural hands-on-wheel motion while driving. The cigarette just stays in hand without the raised motion in those situations, instead of looking broken
Self-healing automatically re-attaches the cigarette and resumes the animation through anything that would otherwise interrupt it (drawing a weapon, entering/exiting a vehicle, ragdolling)
Lightweight ScriptHookV ASI plugin, always inactive until you toggle it on
Known limitations
The animated puffing motion (arm raised to mouth) only plays while standing still or walking. Running, sprinting, and vehicles keep the cigarette in hand but pause the raised motion this is deliberate, not a bug: overriding the upper body during a full sprint or while driving fights the game's own animation and looks worse than pausing it.

Make sure ScriptHookV is installed.
Copy SmokingMod.asi into your GTA V folder, next to GTA5.exe.
Launch the game and press L to light up.
