Anamorphic Lens Flare Brightness Fix
Description
Recommended to use together with NEW Corona Begone! for a cleaner and more realistic lighting effect:
https://gta5-mods.com/misc/new-corona-begone
This mod replaces the vanilla anamorphic lens flare texture with a darker version.
It is fully compatible with GTA V Enhanced Edition and can be used together with NVE Enhanced Edition.
I felt that the original lens flare texture was too bright, especially during nighttime gameplay, causing excessive glare and reducing visibility. This mod provides several brightness options for a more balanced and realistic visual experience.
Included Versions
This archive contains 9 different versions ranging from 10% to 90% brightness.
The files are named according to their brightness level.
Personally, I recommend the 50% brightness version as it provides the best balance between visual quality and gameplay visibility.
--------------------------------------------------
Installation
1. Choose the brightness version you want to use and rename it to:
```
flare_animorphic.dds
```
Make sure the file extension remains `.dds`.
2. Open CodeWalker.
3. Navigate to:
```
mods\update\update.rpf\x64\textures
```
4. Click "Edit Mode" in the toolbar.
5. Double-click:
```
graphics.ytd
```
to open the texture editor.
6. Select the texture:
```
flare_animorphic
```
7. Click "Replace..." at the bottom and select your new:
```
flare_animorphic.dds
```
8. Click the Save button before closing CodeWalker.
CodeWalker does not save changes automatically. Your changes will be lost if you close it without saving.
Done!

Note: You don't need to rename the file anymore. Just use the included .dds file and replace the original flare_animorphic texture directly in CodeWalker.
@Alex Xu Can you make it install with .oiv? That would be great!
@NOHABLOTAKATAKA Thanks for the suggestion! I considered making an .oiv installer, but I decided not to because of compatibility issues.
This mod only edits DDS textures inside the RPF archive. A normal OIV package would usually replace the whole RPF file, which could conflict with other mods like NVE that edit the same archive.
I couldn't find a proper way to create an OIV that only patches the specific DDS files, so manual installation is currently the safest option. It avoids conflicts and allows users to keep their other graphics mods.
