V2.2
- Fixed an issue with the bike cops not showing up
V2.1
- Merged old popgroups.ymt with Rockstar's latest, as well as popcycle.dat file.
- Readded police3 into the city police car table
- Reduced police car spawns in the city
- Supports OpenIV Package Installer
V2.0
- Sheriff's patrol the countryside and San Andreas Highway Patrol take it to the highways. Should you have "Travel to North Yankton" mod installed as well, you will see State Patrol out in North Yankton.
This mod was created to provide the player with a more classic GTA experience, bringing the danger of patrolling cops back to the streets - on foot or in their patrol vehicles. The values have been tuned according to the districts and zones are populated with police to a point where they're not common but not too uncommon to be seen only rarely.
You will also see police cars if you take it to GTA Online, but be wary, the patrolling officers pay close attention to their hot sheets... You know how the department feels about stolen cars!
You can't play GTA: Online with modded archives anymore, so that is not supported. Soz. :(

Big thanks to Unmutual and Custo in helping me set up the files and test, as well as Linxu and RoyalMonaco in testing it.

If you downloaded the recent update, you'll probably want to re-download the mod if you want the reduced cop spawns, I pushed a slightly outdated file with the incorrect values, this has now been corrected. I apologize for the inconvenience.
@Olanov Long time no see bro
It needs an uninstall file for package installer.
@FORD-CRAZY-2003 I'll put it into consideration, but for now you can refer to what the mod replaces by reading the assembly file inside the .oiv for each package.
If you're using the mods folder, you can just take files from the base game to replace them, or not use the mods folder to not play with modded files.
@olanov please where is the original location of the two files please ?
Can you make an optional file where female cops appear rarely?
I'm not saying to replace the male ones!
have a little more variation... you know
@DonBoludo Sadly not the way R* has it set up. I tried adding more peds once before, but for the cop cars, it only ever picked the first entry, which was male (or if you changed it), then female. I'm planning on digging into the system at some point again to see if I can improve it in some ways, ultimately that is one of the goals I would love to reach.
@leyoninho You can open the package installer file and refer to the assembly file for locations.
@Olanov does VEH_HWAYCOP mean cops on bikes? because so far I don't see any
WOOOOOOOOOW
@ExDeath Good catch, thanks. I had the popgroup for it backwards, fixing that now. :)
@Olanov Sadly, i noticed Combat Tweaks by cpast has a option for random occupants in vehicles.meta, but it says that it can cause performance issues and and it will also make people require combat tweaks just for that feature, so i guess we have to deal with 1 pedmodel loaded in every cop car (that isn't controlled by dispatch.meta, more the ambient and scripted scenario ones)
@Ilikeeditingpolice01 I did try adding more peds into the vehicles.meta but without any effect on patrolling cops.
Olanov, it is certainly a delight to see you back. I remember first using your mods way back in 2016 and being impressed as heck by them! My question to you now is, do you have any plans to make more content? Or will you simply update your old ones?
@Decapitated I have ideas laid out for further updates as far as some of my old mods are concerned. Similar to how I already updated the Revised Deputies bit more and plan to give them some more stuff later on, but I'll need to collaborate with some other people on that.
@Olanov Wonderful! Can't wait :).
Compatible with NVE?
where tf does streets.xml go ? so mad there is no instructions :/
@coyotedarkfox My mod doesn't come with a streets.xml file, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. I suggest consulting the readme.txt for instructions.
@IDarthVaderX1 Won't be compatible with anything that replaces the popcycle or popgroups files.
how do u view the files it replaced or modify?
