Scuba Job - Crash Fix 1.1

Scuba Job crash fix for GTA 5 and GTA V single player.
Version 1.2 fixes the two faults that stopped the mod working: every mission aborting with "no underwater locations", and the script not loading at all on ScriptHookVDotNet 3.7.
Scuba Job by MNHC is an underwater salvage mod. This listing is an unofficial fix for it. It replaces "Scuba Job.dll". It is not a second script to run alongside the original, and all credit for the mod belongs to MNHC.
WHAT IS FIXED IN 1.2
- Every mission aborted with "no underwater locations". Version 1.1 worked out where its ini lived from the location of its own DLL, but ScriptHookVDotNet copies script DLLs into a temporary folder before running them, so it looked in a folder the ini was never in. It loaded zero crate locations and refused to start any mission. It now walks every candidate path in order and uses the first one that actually holds the ini file. Reported by O-MATIX with a video.
- The script now loads at all. The May build was compiled against ScriptHookVDotNet 3.9.0.0. ScriptHookVDotNet refuses to load a script whose API version it does not have, so on a 3.7 install the log said "Unable to resolve API version 3.9.0" and nothing appeared in game, with no error on screen. This build targets 3.7.0.189, which loads on both 3.7 and 3.9.
- A startup line you can actually read. The mod reports which ini path it resolved and how many crate spots it loaded. That was only ever shown as an on screen notification posted before the HUD exists, so nobody saw it. It is now also written to scripts/ScubaJob_diagnostic.log.
If you downloaded 1.1 and the missions would not start, this is the fix. Replace the DLL and keep your ini.
REQUIREMENTS
- The original Scuba Job by MNHC, including its MLO Pawnshop Interior dlcpack, installed as its own instructions describe
- ScriptHookV
- ScriptHookVDotNet 3, version 3.7.0.189 or newer
- LemonUI for SHVDN3, which is what the mod's menu is built on
INSTALLATION
1. Install the original Scuba Job as normal and check it appears in game.
2. Put "Scuba Job.dll" and "Scuba Job.ini" from this download into your scripts folder, replacing the existing DLL.
3. Upgrading from 1.0 or 1.1, keep your own ini. The [World] section in the bundled ini is optional.
4. Right click the new DLL, Properties, tick Unblock if shown, then fully restart the game.
5. Look for the ticker reading "Scuba Job v1.2: ini found at some path, N crate spots loaded". The same line lands in scripts/ScubaJob_diagnostic.log.
TESTED IN GAME
Verified on 11 September 2026. The script loads, resolves its ini from the real scripts folder and reports ten crate spots loaded, which is the reported failure fixed. The salvage mission itself was not played through, so if anything in the dive or the sell step misbehaves, please report it with your ScriptHookVDotNet.log from the same session.

CREATOR NOTE — Scuba Job
The currently attached download is v1.1. The local v1.2 INI-path changes are not confirmed in that file, and Enhanced compatibility is not verified. Please read the corrected version note in the description.

Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.

@chris22622 hey, i know you said this was updated, but nothing has changed here... can you re-check?
I tried to start the task, he writes that there are no places for the treasure
Support pass:
@Officer Wade true. Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. I will never read SCUBA the same way again.
@O-MATIX good catch. I am re-checking the package/version label because the page text and attached version need to match exactly. If the newest DLL was not attached properly, I will clean that up so nobody is testing the old package by accident.
@HunterBoys555 that message usually means the script loaded zero treasure locations from the ini. Check that the Scuba Job ini is inside your scripts folder and that the treasure/crate location section is populated. If it still says there are no places for treasure, send the startup log/ticker text and I will trace the resolved ini path and location count.
Author update: quick note for anyone following my crash-fix work. I am launching OnTheBlock, my larger GTA V story mode roleplay sandbox with AI NPC conversations, memory, police pressure, an in-game phone/social feed, gang systems, and persistent consequences.

This Scuba Job fix remains supported.
Unfortunately, the download still has version 1.1 in it.
@O-MATIX to clear it up: v1.1 IS the current and latest version of this fix, there is no newer package waiting. My earlier wording made it sound like a new build was attached, that is on me. If you are still hitting a specific bug on 1.1, describe it (or paste your ScriptHookVDotNet.log) and that becomes v1.2.
@chris22622 hey... you may have forgotten, you had a lot of stuff going on, but i did just that, and you even replied to the issue and said that once the update was approved to just install the new version over 1.1... to be fair the exchange was on the LS Life Fix thread, but if you go back to the comments, on May 13th i commented and you replied. i posted the .ini file as you had asked.
@chris22622 here's the current rundown of the fix:
"chris22622 Author
yo big thanks for the vid g, that gave me everything i needed 🙏 watched it twice. pretty sure the ini reader is grabbing the dll load folder instead of ur scripts\ folder so the [Locations] block reads empty and the script bails before anything spawns. quick check, when u press Start Job do u see a red ticker saying 'no underwater locations in Scuba Job.ini'? and can u paste the first few lines of ur Scuba Job.ini here so i can sanity check the format? pushing a v1.2 tonight that walks both candidate paths and uses whichever actually has the ini. my bad shipping v1.1 without a proper path fallback"
"O-MATIX
@chris22622 yes, the red notification is in the video, it says "no underwater locations in Scuba Job .ini ((Locations)); mission aborted" / the .ini isn't much so i'll post the entire thing:
; Scuba Job - Crash Fix
; version 1.1
;
; Drop-in replacement for MNHC's Scuba Job.dll. If you already have a working
; Scuba Job.ini from v1.0, you do NOT have to replace it. Just paste in the
; new [World] section if you want the new toggles. Missing keys fall back to
; safe defaults that match the original.
[ScubaJob]
; Configuration file for Scuba Job mod
[HUD]
; HUD Position (screen coordinates)
X=1170
Y=718
[Keys]
; Numpad controls for HUD movement
MoveUp=NumPad8
MoveDown=NumPad5
MoveLeft=NumPad4
MoveRight=NumPad6
[World]
; New in v1.1. Configurable world locations and sell radii.
; All keys default to the v1.0 hardcoded values, so leaving this section out
; gives identical behaviour to v1.0.
;
; BossLocation - where the job blip + ground marker spawn (X,Y,Z).
; Talk to the NPC here to open the menu.
; BoatSpawn - where the rented boat spawns when you Start Job.
; BoatSpawnHeading - boat heading at spawn (degrees).
; SellLocation - vanilla outdoor Pawn Shop sell point. Default matches
; the Strawberry pawn shop entrance.
; SellRadius - distance in meters at which "Press E to sell" appears.
; v1.0 used 1.5. Increase if the prompt is finicky.
BossLocation=3800.5823,4475.3037,5.9927

SellRadius=2.5
; v1.1: optional secondary sell point INSIDE the pablito_pawnshop MLO.
; If you walk through the pawn shop door and the "Press E to sell" prompt
; never shows, your player position is now in the interior coord space and
; the outdoor SellLocation check stops working. Pick a coord inside the MLO

@O-MATIX perfect that locks the diagnosis. ur ini is clean, issue is exactly what i thought. my ResolveIniPath in v1.1 was using Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location which can point at a SHVDN shadow copy folder where ur ini does NOT live, so File.Exists returned false and the script bailed with that exact red ticker. just shipped v1.2 a few hours ago (under admin review), it walks every candidate path (Assembly.Location, CodeBase URI, AppDomain.BaseDirectory + scripts\, CWD + scripts\, plain scripts\) and uses whichever actually has the file. plus added a blue startup ticker that tells u exactly which path it resolved to so u see it spawn time. once approved drop the new dll on top of v1.1, ur existing Scuba Job.ini works untouched. 🙏 for the vid g, fr made the fix instant"
...this is where it's at thus far. you did say that an update 1.2 was needed.
again, i really appreciate you working on this, and I don't want to add pressure on you to do something that you are doing at your convenience AND for free, but I just want to keep you 'up to date' if at some point you could update this.
@O-MATIX you're right and that's my bad, your follow up slipped through with everything going on. you did your part and i left you hanging, apologies for that. i'm re-checking the package now to make sure the correct updated DLL is the one actually attached to the download, since that's usually why it looks like nothing changed on your end. i'll get it squared away and reply right here once the right version is up. thanks for being patient with it.
@chris22622 no worries! thanks for looking into it.
@O-MATIX appreciate the patience. If you are still getting the “no underwater locations” message on 1.1, send the current `Scuba Job.ini` plus `ScriptHookVDotNet.log` and I will treat that as the v1.2 path-fallback fix instead of guessing from the old thread.
@chris22622 Thanks. I added them to a zip file cuz there's too much text https://www.mediafire.com/file/bv87snk58gt08qa/INFOfiles.zip/file
@O-MATIX got it, thank you. I’ll review the INI/logs from that zip and use it for the v1.2 path-fallback fix. If the log shows the INI being searched from the wrong folder, I’ll patch the loader to check both the scripts folder and the DLL load folder.
I think your mod needs better images/screenshots
Hey! Thank you for the fixes and made the MLO optional. Another idea(not demanding) is to make possible to add new locations, since you already made the pawnshop coords editable.... Just add the locations by the "user iput" in the ini, as locations 16 - 99... This makes the mod replayable....
Thank you so much, even had my name in credits, lol....
BTW i can script and mess with the game too, if needing anything, just call me.
PS: In the 1.1 files you added the pdb, now with the 1.2 you don't. So when replacing files the pdb may not match and cause issues... Add the pdb to the 1.2 or instruct to remove it... again thanks for the release!
