Crouch - First Person Support [.NET]
About:
A simple singleplayer crouching script for GTA V that allows the player to crouch using GTA's native crouched movement animations.
Unlike many crouch scripts, this mod also includes first person support.
Instead of leaving the normal GTA V first-person camera in a broken position while crouching, the script uses a custom first-person camera system while crouched, allowing you to continue playing in first person without the usual broken camera / animation issues.
The crouch movement uses GTA V's own crouched locomotion clipsets, which means walking, strafing, aiming and turning feel much more natural than a manually looped crouch animation.
Features:
- Native-style crouching movement
- Full first person support while crouching
- Custom crouched first-person camera
- Smooth crouch movement and strafing
- Supports aiming and shooting while crouched
- Automatically exits crouch when jumping, falling, swimming, climbing, entering vehicles, using cover and other incompatible actions
- Reduced movement speed while aiming / shooting
- Works with keyboard and controller
- Uses GTA's native Duck / Stealth control
- Lightweight
- No animation pack required
- No gameconfig modification required
Controls:
Keyboard:
Hold CTRL briefly to crouch.
Press CTRL again while crouched to stand.
Controller:
Hold L3 / Left Stick briefly to crouch.
Press L3 again while crouched to stand.
A short press of the normal stealth button still allows GTA V's regular stealth behavior.
The script uses GTA's native Duck / Stealth control, so keyboard and controller inputs are handled automatically.
First Person:
First person can be used normally while crouched.
GTA V's original first-person system does not properly support the unused crouched movement animations and can cause broken camera positioning / animations.
To solve this, the mod automatically switches to a custom first-person camera while crouched.
When you stand back up, the normal GTA V first-person camera is restored automatically.
You can also switch between first and third person while crouched.
Requirements:
- GTAV Legacy
- Script Hook V
- Script Hook V .NET (🔸Nightly Build🔸)
Using outdated versions of SHVDN may cause crashes.
Always use the latest compatible version!
Installation:
Make sure to delete older versions before installing.
Drop "Crouch.dll" into your GTA V scripts folder.
If you don't have a scripts folder, create one inside your GTA V root directory.
Uninstallation:
Remove "Crouch.dll" from your GTA V scripts folder.
Known Bugs:
No major bugs currently known.
The first-person crouch camera is custom because GTA V's original first-person system does not correctly support the crouched locomotion animations.
Minor differences compared to Rockstar's normal first-person camera may be noticeable depending on the weapon or situation.
Changelog:
- v1.0: Initial release

When you are crouching in first person, you cannot zoom or aim down the scope/iron sights. Is that intentional or required for the mod to work? Other than that it very great mod
Bro you are best💀
Look my mods bro
Awesome mod . Any plan of making prone mod
Would it be possible the camera and fov lower when crouching?
could you make it so that it still has the effects of stealth mode cause this is annoying to have while doing the complications mission they're getting alerted while dude is literally crouched, it makes no sense, otherwise this mod is great.
This is awesome mod but please fix bug that you cant aiming in first person while crouching
@ybrMCZ 🤞🔥
@gamerboymuhammadpro thx bro
@p2k_hellcat appreciate it bro 🙏
@tmquz thank u so much 🤞
@Crazy city ty bro u too 🤞 ill check ur mods
@Luxyxl thank u bro. not sure if im gonna make prone mod any time soon
@NullVoid uses same native crouched movement animation from GTA but its not like his mod this one is smoother and works in first person too. the crouch/prone mod doesnt even let u walk in first person while crouched, its also buggy asl
@krytoipampers4 @Godfather6969 yes guys thats not a bug its because to fix the first person issue, i had to setup a custom camera that its not 1:1 like the first person one, but i promise when i have more time i will try to replicate it much better so u can use the iron sights
@itsyaboi0008 yeah i will make a config file for it
@YourActualFather yes i could try. i will wait for a few more feedbacks than work on the update to bring all the stuff yall said here
What graphic mod do you use?
When aiming gun and entering vanilla stealth mode, the animation becomes jittery and doesn’t feel as smooth as it does in the vanilla GTA 5.
@Jcats ChromatiX with no reshade. Also visualsettings.dat desaturation changed from 1.00 to 0.85. thanks for review
