Fuel Script V 0.8 by Sakis25
The first fuel mod for GTA V!

  • Fuel bar above the minimap
  • Engine stops if you run out of fuel
  • To refill fuel stop the car near a petrol station and sound the horn
  • You can also refill your car using the jerry can (hold L near vehicle)
  • Car fuel is stored for the last 10 vehicles
  • When you run low on gas the fuel bar turns red
  • Blips with petrol station locations on map
  • Map with petrol station locations included in archive

What's New in 0.8:
- New fuel bar design and colors
- Fuel consumption is now working only if you are in driver's seat
- If you run out of fuel a text is displayed above the fuel bar
- Bug fixes

Installation Instructions:
  • Make sure you have the above requirements first
  • Extract "FuelScriptV 0.8.zip" in the GTA 5 Folder
  • Make sure "FuelScriptV.lua" is in the "scripts\addins\" folder
  • Enjoy!

Additional Notes:
- This mod works only with the default 3 characters. It may not show up if you are using a custom ped/character.
- To place the fuel bar exactly above the minimap set the Safe Zone to 90-95%.

    Could you make it so people either buy jerry at Los Santos Garage (Outside in case you have stars) and refill when you go inside Garage (Refill or Refill + Repair options)

    Hey everyone, I just want to report that this mod may cause missing blips on your map. (i.e.: LSC, Tattoo shops, Barbers, Strangers and Freaks, etc.) If you are experiencing any missing blips, I'd advise you to de-install this mod, and see if that has any result. GL

    @Narobic Sorry man, i wish it was easy, but it's not. This mod must be reprogrammed to change the activation key.

    @Narobic All right man, it's not that hard, actually. Just open the 'FuelScriptV.lua' file in Notepad. Find the '-- refuel key (for jerry can)' line (without quotes) and add the following line right after it 'local startfuelKey = Keys.G'. You must understand that 'G' can be replaced to any key you want 'cause this is your activation key. Well, the next step is to find this text 'PLAYER.IS_PLAYER_PRESSING_HORN (player)' and replace it with 'get_key_pressed(startfuelKey)'.
    That's all buddy. Enjoy. :)

    @Slash_Alex Thanks so much! Really appreciate the help. LA's a nice place to visit, not the best place to live LoL. Let's just say that the crimes in GTAV aren't even close to how bad it can get here

    So since you can't set the price under 1, is there a way to change the price-to-fuel ratio to be more realistic? So like $2 for every gallon (roughly 4 liters)

    @Narobic You again. :) Listen, there is one way that could probably resolve this problem.
    You can speed up or slow down refueling. Faster you gas your car less money you spend.
    There are two these lines 'value.fuel = value.fuel + 0.0005' in the file. They are responsible for jerry can refueling.
    And two other lines like 'cars[1].fuel = cars[1].fuel + 0.001' and 'cars[1].fuel = cars[1].fuel + 0.002'. The first one for cars and the second one for bykes. So, higher the number - faster refueling.
    Try to play with these figures. At least that's all i can help.

    @Slash_Alex hi! You're tips have been helpful and I have modified this mod accordingly. However, is there a way you could prevent cash from being deducted completely (atm it's removing $1 from my account for every ???) I've had a look myself (and I have no idea what I'm looking at) but I'm not sure what I could change to make this happen without breaking the script. Any ideas?

    It may defeat the purpose, however, I'm currently running a zombie mod and I'd at least like to keep the immersion in tact. Who pays for fuel in an apocalypse anyway? We take, we don't bother.

    @Slash_Alex nevermind, I worked it out. However, now I need to work out how prevent the cash popping up in the top right hand corner when refueling and also how to toggle the refuel on and off, any ideas?
