@OG_Mods17 Hell yeah it is. I just reinstalled GTA V for the first time in a couple years and this is literally the first mod I came back to get. That one you mentioned from Jedi was gonna be next. I haven't tried these since last time so here's hoping that they work and if not then man, RIP.

This was SUCH a fun mod. I hate seeing the best mods get abandoned. I spent hours upon hours playing this.

Darn, still no more updates. I think the mod might be dead. It's excellent, but it had the potential to be even greater. I hope he comes back to add more zones or let us choose our own.

I'd like to add this mod but it adds 1.21 gigawatts to my computer. You really need a high end rig to use this.

I kid. This looks F'n amazing.

@Jomtek Sure! Just a thought, not a direct request (it's your mod and you have every right to make it how you want) but I personally think it would be really cool if, once a terrorist group has been killed, they can then respawn anywhere else on the map, in random places. They'd still get their glowing zones so you could see where they are, so you could go hunt them and fight them just like the first time. Basically your same idea, just never ending. It would almost be like you'd be fighting many cells of the terrorist's organization. "The Paleto Bay cell has been wiped out, let's regroup near the hospital in San Andreas", that kind of thing.

@zafrinsky It doesn't look like it but that would be awesome. You turn on the mod and then boom, randomly throughout the map, groups of terrorists appear and then show up elsewhere after the first group has been wiped out. I'd like that.

@noplaymaker Sorry, I was a bit confusing there. Basically I was saying that both mods are good but I prefer the cleaner, more simple, straightforward (yet still very detailed) Old Gen map mod, which is the one I'm using now.

@noplaymaker It depends on your visual preference, really. The Old Generation map (I think that's what it was called) is a simple, clean map that basically keeps all the detail that you're used to seeing but fills in the map to be colored like it was on older consoles (yellow Sandy Shores, green hilly areas, etc). I wound up liking this one better because it felt less cluttered.

At the same time, this mod (the Satellite map) provides you with the advantage of seeing the color of individual buildings and so forth, making it easier to locate specific details or areas. The Old Gen map has the same "blank" buildings that the game's vanilla map does. What I didn't like about the Satellite map is that there are permanent bluish shadows that are next to a lot of buildings (which was basically unavoidable, if you're taking a real shot of the game world there are going to be shadows), the map didn't always align perfectly with the actual terrain, and I found it to be kind of overwhelming to look at after a while.

Both map mods are good, like I said it really just kind of depends on your visual preference. Go look at the other mod, come back to look at this one, and see which one you'd like best.

I used this mod for a long time and really loved it, but couldn't stand that there were permanent shadows on the map in multiple areas because of the nature of how the mod had to be made. It was also slightly off, for example the "Thelma and Louise" area didn't match up to what was shown on the map.

I eventually switched to the Old Generation Map and will likely be sticking with that, but this mod did what was promised in a way that was probably as good as the concept could have been executed.
