Feel free to join the Discord Server for announcements (and a better chance of getting support for questions).
Chaos Mod V is an attempt to mimic the Chaos mods found on SA and VC and expand on them with own ideas.
Basically, every 30 seconds the game will trigger a random effect. This effect can be anything from giving you an RPG to exploding all nearby vehicles or making every nearby ped dance.
There are one-time and timed effects. One timed effects will run only once when the effect is started, while timed effects will run for 90 seconds (by default) after they've been started.
This makes gameplay significantly more surprising, as literally anything could happen every time an effect starts. Right now the mod features around 350 unique effects.
The mod also comes with a simple configuration tool. You can do anything from changing how often an effect should start to toggling individual effects and changing all kind of settings individually for any effect.
Also this mod is open source and licensed with GPLv3. Feel free to do whatever you want with it as long as it doesn't violate the license in any way.
Installation / Updating:
Vanilla
Make sure you have ScriptHookV installed! ScriptHookVDotNet is not required.
Apart from that, just drag and drop the ChaosMod.asi and the chaosmod folder (which are located inside the downloaded zip file) into your GTA directory.
FiveM
NOTE: The mod was made with singleplayer in mind. It is thus recommended you use it in the story mode accessible through FiveM for the best experience, though the mod should also run on servers which have client mod support enabled.
Drop the ChaosMod.asi into the plugins folder inside the FiveM/FiveM Application Data/ folder (create the plugins folder if it doesn't exist already).
The chaosmod folder still goes into your normal GTA directory.
Additional note for Wine / Proton users
Make sure to add dinput8 as a native override, otherwise asiloader won't run. Shader effects require d3dcompiler_47 to work properly. Also install dotnet6 through winetricks / protontricks if you want to run the ChaosModVConfig.exe.
Please do note that some mods (e.g. trainers or visual mods) can conflict with some effects! If you are experiencing any problems try disabling all other mods before reporting them back!
Also make sure you run chaosmod/ChaosModVConfig.exe to look through its options to customize the mod to your liking!
Make sure to check the config utility every once in a while to see if there's an update available!

Update: i gave up and stopped using the mod after the mission "chop"
@pongo1231 Suggestion: please make "meta" an option in the "override timed effect type" drop-down list ‒ currently there's no option to set any effect longer than "normal".
@Zsombor_99 True, Meta should be an option for the timed type override option
I thought my GTAV had issue for coloring, then it turned out this mod just fooled around, I don't like it and removed it afterward
@lolovest12 The mod by itself does not mess with the colors of your game, certain effects do however (and you can disable those in the config utility to your liking).
@pongo1231 What's the original name of the "Where We Droppin?" effect? 🤔 The one when the player teleports into a bus in the sky, kinda like in Fortnite. I want to disable the effect, but I can't find it.
@Zsombor_99 That's the BattleBus.lua file in one of the workshop submissions you installed. You can click on the submission settings icon in the workshop page and disable that file from loading.
@pongo1231 hallo Author, i very love your mod, i learn script and can modify ped on .lua file in workshop folder, but i can find .lua for main script like spawn sultan or balla squad because i want to change the car in my game,if you dont mind, can you tell me where to find spawn balla squad .lua or how to make them, because i dont know about coding, thank you
@marina02 Those are built-in into the mod, meaning you'd have to modify the source code of the mod itself to edit those effects. If you want those as .lua scripts you would have to recreate them.
@pongo1231 thx for reply, i don't know at all about coding, but i find this https://github.com/Last0xygen/ChaosModV/blob/1426041ba9b2347e0d359675c28689be01065047/ChaosMod/Effects/db/Peds/PedsSpawnBallaSquad.cpp , i copied and saved as .lua at notepad and put under workshop folder, but still not work T_T
@marina02 Yes that won't work as that is written in C++, not Lua. You will have to translate it manually. Also your own custom effects should go into the scripts folder, not the workshop folder.
@pongo1231 thank you for the guide, i'll learn it later
crashing all the time. unplayable sh1t sorry UwU
@pongo1231 Oh, somehow I didn't got notification, but thanks for your answer, bro, that was it! 🙂
When I load in my quicksave, my game has unusually high amount of "fog", the visibility is only about ~1-2 meters, but it immediately disappears when I activate this chaos mod ‒ this "fog" won't appear again until I restart my game. What can cause it? 🤔
Hello, I downloaded all needed files into the gta folder (dinput8, ScriptHookV, chaosmod folder and .asi, and nativetrainer) and it still doesn't enable when i join the game. am i doing something wrong? is there a button i need to hit in-game to use it?
hey @pongo1231 how do i enable the overlay for twitch voting? im completley lost as it isnt inside of the chaos mod config app
it would be cool if when in blaine county when bus bois activates it spawned daschounds instead of the normal bus
Is there a way to modify the acceleration of vehicles so that it does not affect me but affects the rest of the vehicles?
Every time I try to download the latest version (2.1.3) my McAfee detects that this contains virus & malware but on this site it says that the mod is safe. What should I trust? McAfee or this website? I really like this mod otherwise :)
Am using rampage trainer right now. Will it cause any issues if I put this new mod ?
