Recommended companion so prompts and settings use PS5 controller buttons - https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/ps5-dualsense-prompts
This addon brings native (built in) support for PS5 controllers, not only that, DualSense integration (Haptic / Rumble Feedback). The same feature built in to GTA V Enhanced is now native in Legacy. No external application required.
Full PS5 controller support, out of the box with no additional software needed, and unlike some controller companions, it gives you dualsense support. So now even in legacy you can feel the haptic feedback of your triggers, whether you are shooting, or driving around.
Features:
- Haptic Triggers
- Vibration feedback
- Lights match protagonist / wanted
- Bluetooth compatible
In the works:
- Matching the vibrations has been a challenge to say the least, getting the rumble of every bump / crash / pothole / ped hit / etc... I am actively trying to improve it to feel more natural.
Please report any discovered bugs, I felt it was ready for a public release based on my testing.
Install:
- Place the provided folder & asi in your GTA root directory.
Changelog:
1.0.2b:
- Modified Direct Input behavior
- Bluetooth reconnect now sends reties for connection, and light status.
1.0.0b:
- fixed hot plugging (if you plug a controller in during game)
- bluetooth connection

This addon brings native (built in) support for PS5 controllers, not only that DualSense integration (Haptic / Rumble Feedback). The same feature built in to GTA V Enhanced is now native in Legacy. No external application required.
Currently only supporting controller plugged in via USB.
1.0.0b brings support for Bluetooth, controller must be powered on prior to starting GTA
Hi, reporting a cold-start crash with H2.1.
Build: WDS_PHASE_7_1E_H2_1_COLDSTART_NATIVE_ATTACH_20260926_A
GTA 1.0.3411.0, system dinput8.dll 10.0.26100.8521, DualSense BT PID 0x0CE6
Fault: 0xc0000005 read at dinput8.dll+0x19ae2
Instr: movsxd rdx,[rax-8] in func 0x19ad0
From dump: Rip=0x7ffcb9ec9ae2, Rax=0x1d8edcb0000 (VirtualAlloc base), Rcx heap object, fault=Rax-8.
9 crashes in a row, same offset, after installing the 22:51 ASI build. 100% on launch.
Caller is WreckDualSense.asi+0x2edc6 (func 0x2ead0):
VirtualAlloc(0x58), copy vtable, VirtualProtect, mov [rsi],rbx, then call [rax+8].
Shadow copy has no [-8] header that dinput8 AddRef/Release reads, and base-8 is unmapped.
Log shows DirectInput8Create hr=0 but DS4FACADE enum=0 hooked=0, no EnumDevices reached.
Happy to provide WreckDualSense.log / asiloader.log / Event 1000 excerpt if needed.
@killershadow336 I have modified the directInput connection (which is where you are seeing your crash) as well as fixed quite a few things. As soon as I test a few scenarios I will be releasing the update, should be some time tonight.
@WreckitRy Thanks man. On H2.1 I got 9x 0xc0000005 at dinput8.dll+0x19ae2 reading [vtable-8] after shadow install + call [rax+8]. Repro 100% on BT cold-start.
With a temp bypass (no shadow overwrite) + DS4Windows for XInput input, your output works (stiff triggers + Franklin green), no crash. Native BT input without DS4Windows is still dead (DI calls 0, lateNative success 0).
Happy to test the new build clean, no DS4Windows, BT cold-start. :P
@killershadow336 v1.0.2b should have resolved this, this is revision 7.1E-H2.18
if you are still getting any input errors with this version, drop the log output.
also be sure steam input is disabled, and none of the DS(x / 4 / pro) programs are running
Tried it...the triggers stiffen but i can't do anything else....no menu movement and no ingame movement....on version 1.02b for both wireless and wired.
Can you add where the icons and ui switch to actual playstation buttons?
@ChevyBoi_Don coming in the next update, if you need them sooner than the next release the mod i linked at the top of the description does a decent job.
