A mod that's named after the game it's made for. Great.
With this mod, when you steal a vehicle, pedestrians around you will report you to the cops. If there are no pedestrians (or they are dead within around 15 seconds), then a missing vehicle will be reported in around 5 minutes.
When the police have been notified, they will search for you. If they see you and fully recognize that it is you, you will get a wanted level.

- Extract the GrandTheftAuto.dll and GrandTheftAuto.ini files into the scripts folder in your GTA V directory.

- Some vehicles that aren't stolen may be picked up, and some that are stolen may not be picked up.

The mod does not spawn cops. I believe you can edit the game files to get more police to spawn.
I had that problem when I first started working on the mod, but it was fixed way before release. If you keep noticing the problem (and if other people notice it) I'll look into it.

Very interesting idea, now police will search for stolen/missing cars, that's uber :D
testing right away.
I had great hopes for this mod but sadly it dont work very well. I tested for some time and I stole cars with people very close, but only a few times did I get a notice that someone had noticed. So thanks for trying :)
I think stealing cars in GTA 5 is too easy, any way to improve this mod, or maybe someone know of a mod that make stealing cars more difficult?
@xxx78 You have to be in a pedestrians FOV for him to see you, and you don't get any notification he's seen you until the cops see you and you get a wanted level. You may want to turn on the INI setting "SHOW_EXTRA_INFO_MESSAGES". The extra messages are notifications that tell you if anybody saw you, if the cops are looking for you, if the cops call off the search, etc. This will show you if the script is working correctly.
Just happened to find the bug I fixed in v1.0.1 by accident. I was just browsing some of my old code and happened to see that the search radius settings were not being used at all. Easiest fix ever (took about 3 seconds).
I wish cops in gta5 would understand that if i'm in between polygon walls with textures, they not suppose to see me, lol, especially while stars are blinking.
But nice ambient routines for cops, will test soon

this is great mod but there is one problem if i spawn in a car i get a wanted lvl becuse it was reported stolen after i get in or if i get in the single player cars wold be nice to have this bug fixed

Cool. I like challenge. One thing in this mod I dont like. It takes to fast for police to forget. I will edit it to be longer but I Wonder how long I can make it? :) Anyway awesome mod that adds to believability and immersion! Thanx for this mod.
Thanks for your reply back in 2017. Your mod is working well now, Its a great mod. I changed my rating from 3 to 4.5. After testing several other car stealing mods this actually worked best.
Only one thing I wished was better, if I escape the police chasing me in a stolen car, they never look for that car again. After the first chase the mod work like the game work, no police reacting to me driving in a stolen car. Would be really awesome if this got fixed.

Have anyone tried setting HOW_LONG_POLICE_SEARCH_FOR_PED_CALL to 1800000 = 30 min?
I want cops to look for me for a long time, actually forever, so I wonder whats the limit here?

Max value is 2147483647.
That value only changes how long the cops look for you until they find you. Once you're found, they look no longer.
Still the best mod for car stealing mechanic.
