INSTALLATION:

USAGE:
  • Once in game you can hit 'I' to bring up the inventory, and craft items with C, and show how to make the items with F.
  • You can hit F10 to bring up the zombies menu.
  • You can go up to a bodyguard and press E to configure him/her.
  • When in front of a vehicle with low engine health, 'E' to repair it.

NOTES:
  • Zombie are attracted to noise so be weary of that or you may attract the horde. Manage your survivors so they won't shoot when you don't want them to. (Remember that you can apply tasks to all survivors at once).
  • This IS a survival mod, so food and sleep need to be managed, make sure you hunt for food and loot for resources regularly so you can stay alive in this cold new world.
  • If you run into a "friendly" group, try not to shoot at them. During a zombie apocalypse there is no such thing as being civil.
  • Build up your camp, and recruit new survivors. Remember that you can tell them to stay behind and "Chill" if needed.
  • Manage weapons you share with your group. After all, weapons are the key to having the upper hand against dangerous enemies.
  • Craft walls and barricades to keep zombies from entering your safe zone.

The menu key-codes are editable in the .ini file that is created after you run the game with the mod.

  • Fixed water bug where the player was not able to get water from ocean or lakes.
  • Fixed resource limit where you could not craft weapon crates.
  • Patched vehicle spawning so they won't always spawn in walls.
  • Added some vehicle damage to windows and doors on certain cars.

  • Turned off vending machines.
  • Fixed bandages so they will give both health and armor.

Inventory & Loot Patch
  • Re-balanced the inventory limits.
  • Water gives more thirst.
  • Packaged food gives more hunger and very little thirst.
  • Removed the controller button for now.
  • Loot crate drops are more rare. (20% chance)
  • Merry-weather peds shouldn't linger around anymore even after finishing the loot drop.

  • Night time is extremely dangerous. 50% of the zombies are fast zombies, so you better craft some ammo or sleep through the night!

  • Completely re-wrote the mod.
  • Prison gates are now open (sometimes the announcer general dude still talks but I don't think that's changeable).

  • You can clear out restricted areas of zombies (airport, prison, docks, etc)

  • Zombie damage is configurable.
  • Fast zombies are a lot harder in hand-to-hand combat, and they will have a greater chance of tackling you.
  • The survivor (guard) menu has changed.
  • Fixed bug where guards sometimes won't follow you or the menu won't open for them.
  • There is now a limit to a number of survivors you can have in your group.

  • Zombies are WAY more aware of their surroundings and they're a lot more sensitive to sound now.
  • Silencers are now craftable and work with any weapon that can have one.
  • Added customizable militia vehicle model to ini. Make sure you know the exact model name before entering it.
  • Zombie hearing range has been increased (configurable in .ini file).
  • Zombie health is now configurable in the .ini file.
  • You can now create water from a bottle, beach water, and a camp fire.
  • Added facial animations to runners.
  • You can sneak behind zombie up to a certain point before they notice you.
  • Added new "dirty water" resource that can be used to make clean water.
  • It's way easier to sleep now, and nearby enemies will be marked on your map if there are any. If you're in an area where pedestrians usually spawn like city streets etc. don't expect for it to always be free of zombies, that's just the nature of the game.

    make sure that you don't stand a chance in close combat.
  • Optimized a bit of the performance issues.
  • Added ability to loot 24/7 shops.

  • Zombies are now killed instantly by hits to the head from melee weapons (They have to be hard hits).
  • Interactables are now treated the same with different interaction logic (this gives me more options in the future to add even more interactables).
  • Car repair time has been internally shortened (still configurable).
  • Hostile survivors will not spawn near you anymore (was noticing people having issues with them spawning in front of them).
  • Zombies will not spawn around the props you place, so if you build a camp they will not spawn nearby (you still have to kill the remaining ones).
  • Game-spawned planes will free fall from the sky, just like an apocalypse.
  • Inventory items given from loot drops are a bit more scarce than regular, however weapons are still abundant.
  • Bandages give a bit more health than before.
  • Zombies can take a ton of bullets, and they WILL GUARANTEED get back up if not shot in the head. They will no longer play the writhe/injured on ground animation even when riddled with bullets.
  • New animal looting animation.

  • Fixed issue with save/load not removing out of date files.
  • Fixed issue with save/load creating tent's that where removed in the last save.
  • Fixed hunger sustainability not running out, and causing infinite hunger.

    @gugolf i already know the problem, i crated a folder because it was easier for me to know wich scripts i was using, and then the objects were not loading but i deleted the folder and now it is working well.

    I can not make clean with dirty water or cook raw meat at campfire, press c nothing happens, resources is shows almost maxed out, but inventory showing mostly 0 items in inventory, but when F is pressed it shows I have plenty to make said item...so confused, if I start from a new save, after I remove mod save reinstall mod items work and all but still can not use C at fire, save all guards, cars ,walls tents etc... then close game, try to play next day, stuff sometimes loads gaurds mainly won't, or they load somewhere else, then items never increase from looting, and resources are saying maxed out and get they are not.....really really confused..... please help

    @TerrificFire It's not hard to find it even if you don't watch Typical Gamer on YT. Takes max a few minutes using Google. If you're too lazy for this, open ZombiesMod.dll in a hex editor, search for "48 00 69 00 6E 00 74 00 3A 00" and what you see over this in text view is the Unicode string of the password.

    First of all, fun mod! Kinda DayZ-like, however I've never played that game...
    Second, a question: I can't open doors for interiors. Especially the convenience store doors are a big pain for not opening. Are they locked and do I need a crowbar or key or something or is this a bug?

    Finally, for some feedback/suggestions:
    -For some resources it took some time for me to find out how they work. For example dirty water, I had no idea (however it's fairly obvious now) that I required a bottle and needed to press "F" in dirty water. I.m.o. a more extensive readme/manual on resources and such wouldn't hurt! :)
    -When you loot something it says you've retrieved an x-amount of resources, would it be possible to see what resources they are?
    -There's so many cars around, but I can't loot them. Surely there are useful items to be found in cars! Perhaps for a next update make this possible.

    This is a lot of fun! Rockstar should honestly make their own zombie game based on GTA V, like a single-player zombies DLC, maybe.

    You've done a lot of good work here, though I feel like this mod is too easy. The problem is that when you start and have no weapons, the game is very repetitive with a lot of zombie stomping, but there just isn't much to do. Enemy variety is also very lacking.

    For one thing, you could add unique loot to certain parts of the map. For instance, the Army Base could spawn RPGs, or MGs, so that players had an incentive to go there. Building sites in the city could have hammers, vehicle parts, and that sort of thing. Mainly, the inventory system is okay, but with only zombies to loot it isn't possible to use it to its full advantage, as all loot is basically the same. Some hammers, bats, and other melee weapons scattered around would also help.

    More enemy variety, too, would help make the mod more varied. Even armored vehicles, maybe, that would spawn very rarely - if you have the right weapons, you can take it out, or else you'll have to run. Helicopters could also be an interesting enemy.

    I know you mentioned before that an update wouldn't come out until Space comes out, but do you have an ETA on when an update could be released? Love the mod so much, just me and other people aren't able to play it after the GTA and scripthook v update. Totally understandable if an update isn't incoming, just dying to know. I check this page like twice a day :)
