Story NUI is a free resource by WreckD LLC for creating HTML, CSS and JavaScript interfaces in GTA V story mode.
If you build something using it, please link it in the comments! I'm eager to see what you guys do with it =)
It provides a Chromium browser host, transparent Direct3D 11 rendering, a C# SDK and a JavaScript bridge. Developers can create menus, HUDs and notifications, send game data to their interface, and handle interface callbacks in their game script.
This is a development framework. The main resource does not open a menu by itself. An optional Showcase sample demonstrates what you can build.
Included features
Showcase sample
Includes a live protagonist HUD with health, armor, speed, game time and wanted level. Its menu demonstrates map waypoints, time and weather controls, vehicle repair, custom notifications, and saved display settings.
Requirements
GTA V Enhanced / Direct3D 12 compatibility has not been established. This is a story-mode resource; it does not run FiveM resource scripts.
Installation
The separate SDK/renderer source package is for inspection and local compilation. It is not a complete playable installation.
Known limitations

Would it be possible to feed CEF/Chromium web-rendered pixel buffers into the target texture of those in-game TV or billboard objects in furture?
@DanJaLey I'll look into that, youre refering to something along the lines of this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keC07mTLwBI
@WreckitRy Thank you. If this actually pans out, it’ll be a total game-changer for GTA 5 story mode mods. Nothing like this has ever existed for single-player before — this kind of thing was previously only possible on FiveM.
@WreckitRy just like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrsiU7b1JwY&t=666s
@WreckitRy Or like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqh3ZoSNDYI
1.1.2 Changes the folder structure so SH is not trying to load the DLL's
Remove the previous version from the scripts folder and place the new scripts folder and StoryNui folder in you GTA root
@DanJaLey so using NUI as the dependency I was able to create a basic version of what you were seeking. It's not something i want to deep dive into, but the proof of concept is there. So we'll have to see what other dev's make now that this framework is available to them. https://imgur.com/a/nznXvgT
@WreckitRy All right,Thank you for sharing!! You all are doing really cool things!
@DanJaLey ADHD and too many side projects lol, trying to get the bigger ones completed, then still have to update the little mods I've released
Keep in mind this one is just a framework, its essentially useless until devs start making scripts for it. A lot of my mods will require it aswell.
@WreckitRy
What is the difference between the two?
https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/nuilight
@Tonyk2024 no clue, havent used it and didnt know it existed
It looks cool; I'll try adding it to my scripts
@leuzinlost the look is completely up to you, i only provided a small example of what you can do. it opens up custom html UI that is integrated to the game.
@WreckitRy yeeah
Hi I’d like to use WreckD TV and StoryNUI on GTA V Enhanced. Are these mods compatible with the Enhanced version, or are you planning to update them to support it? If they are compatible, could you please explain how to install them correctly on Enhanced?
Thank you for your work
