Street Races 0.7



IMPORTANT: Bikers DLC has broken some scripthookdotnet functions, which are crucial to this script. Its heavily recommended that you update your ScriptHookDotNet to the latest version to fix it.

This script also requires NativeUI.

My attempt to bring Street Racing to the streets of Los Santos.

Keep in mind that, while functional, this is WIP and not polished.

Reccomended mods
Realistic Nitro - Needed if you want to have nitro, like the rest of the racers. You can use Turbosystem V, too.
Faster AI Drivers - Will greatly improve the experience.
Vehicle Handling V - Can make races more interesting, as each car has a more unique handling. FWD cars have stability advantage, for example.

  • Street Races scattered all around the game world
  • You bring your own vehicle to the races, no vehicle selection
  • Each race is customizable (Opponents, Nº of participants, Nº of laps, Prize, traffic density) so you get exactly the experience you want
  • Exciting races with smart opponents (AI Racers have various helpers coded for them so they're more competent)
  • Realistic Prize system, where each racer contributes money to the final Prize
  • New Bet system, where you can bet on other racers if you enter the race as a Spectator.
  • Oponent and Race creator included

Plans (Can't promise anything)
  • Dynamic notifications based on the race's events
  • Immersive mode (No menus, flares instead of waypoints, etc)
  • More cars, Addon cars

Place "Street Racing.dll" and the "StreetRaces" folder inside the "Grand Theft Auto V/scripts" folder. If you don't have that folder, create it.

Once ingame, go to any of the so-called Street Races. A blip will show all the races available. Once there, hit E.

Optional: Race & Oponent creator
If you wish to create your own races and add new cars/opponents to the script, place the "Street Racing Editor.dll" file inside the "Grand Theft Auto V/scripts" folder.
Then, use - to open the Car Saver menu, and + to open the Race Creator menu.

The Script
- Races now finish properly. Once the first car finishes, everyone else has 30 seconds to finish, THEN the prizes are given and the race ends.
- You can now leave the race by leaving the car and walking away from it. This won't happen if you have finished and are waiting for the race to finish.
- More AI finetuning. Also, added offroad and downhill behavior for the Opponents.
- Opponents will be tuned by the script on the fly now. That means every car will be tuned from now own, without any pre-designing process by the user(or me).
- Big rework on races and how AI drives through the checkpoints. Old races will be incompatible.
- Added and removed a few Races. There are now 32 Races in total.
- Added Betting as spectator. You can now bet on other drivers if you enter the race on foot. You'll enter the driver's car as a passenger.

The Editor
- Added some options to define if the checkpoint is offroad, flat surface or dangerous. Defining this will allow the AI to go through more interesting courses.
- Changed the way the Editor names races.
- Added custom classes, fire up the Race/Opponent creator and you'll see.
- The Racers.xml should be able to handle vehicle names and not only vehicle hashes now.
- More AI finetuning, namely, AI will now take jumps if they approach them at the correct angle. If not, they will brake to avoid being thrown unsafely.
- More race finetuning, plus some experimental races.
- Finetuned AI, they should stop braking randomly now.
- Finetuned some races.
- Improved AI braking helpers (AI now brakes properly, without strange magic)
- Improved vehicle classes and distributed the vehicles more properly
- Implemented random tuning system for non-tuned vehicles (pretty basic)
- Added FREE for the bets (Request)
- Added some offroad races
- Improved AI waypoint processing (they now decide which driving style they need to reach their waypoint depending on the circumstances)

    @Juan Deag In the far future, I've got too many projects in my hands now.
    But yeah, somewhat likely. Ideally it will be more about the cars and less about the races, as GTA V AI is unfixable.

    @Eddlm I try again, sry for asking again. Is it possible to remove the blips on the map so they dont count toward maximum blips? I use "no more disappearing blips" but still blips disappear from time to time. I use many other mods mods but they add few blips.

    @xxx78 Don't think I'll be removing them, if you have an issue with them you can remove the meets you dont use, in scripts/Dragmeets/meets.

    @Eddlm thanks for your answer. Not sure I understand you, dragmeets is working great, the blips for that mod is only temporarily and that's perfect. I was wondering about the blips for streetraces, can I somehow disable them for myself, and if possible, where do I start??

    I understand, Is this something I can do for myself and if possible, can you point me to where to start?

    @xxx78 Do you have issues with the $ blips or the racer blips? For the second one, there should be an option to disable them in the ini, as it has been requested before.

    You can disable the blips removing the meet files themselves, to know which ones are street races, open the files with a text editor and look for "touge=true".

    @FailShady Most mods just don't work on pirated games. Just buy the game. If you're too poo, work for it. If you're already working but still too poor, get your shit together and figure out your priorities. Go find a better job or a second job in your spare time. Earn money. BUY the game...

    @sammyboy I don't think u know the political conditions over.........OVER HERE U HAVE TO PAY HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS THEN U WILL GET A SOMEWHAT GOOD JOB.........too much corruption over here.....brain power is considered useless unless u have money........@sammyboy why dont u come here and try to find a job......then after few years u will see ur children facing same trouble that I am facing right now.     @Eddlm Thanks a lot, my blip issues seem to be random, that some blips disappear here and there, but it is because I use many mods with blips. I just want to reduce the number of blips that appear on the map all the time. I will use your suggestion so I can keep this awesome mod.

    @eddlm man i got a problem with the mod, i have been reading all the coments about your mod and several people have ask about this problem and nobody answers, i found the race on my map i start the race but then it show a loading sreen that goes forever....the race never start, please give a solution i really like your mod

    mod itself is okay, but many people have this problem and everyone seems to ignore it, im talking about the infinite loading problem. When i load the game i can only race once, then i need to restart my game, and i dont have a supercomputer so it takes some time to load. And if i try to race 2nd time the loading problem appears. I hate it. and this comment is going to be ignored i can already tell.

    Hey @Eddlm I have a glitch I think. Whenever I enter 'bet' into the console, everyone leaves the meet, and some new people do join, but leave soon after joining. Any information is appreciated, thank you.

    great mod man! tell me, is there a way in which you could create a tournament including diferrent races or all? so you have to 1st 2nd or 3rd in race 1, to be able to race race 2, and so on... so there would be a leaderboard or something like that? I dont know if it is impossible coding or what, but hopefully you can do something similar!
