QUICK DIALOGUE SYSTEM
VERSION 1.9 | MAJOR UPDATE
GTA V Legacy: Version 1.9
GTA V Enhanced: Version 1.9
ABOUT
Quick Dialogue System (QDS) is an advanced dialogue and character direction tool for GTA V, designed for machinima creators.
Recruit characters, direct their attention, animate conversations, record walking scenes and create synchronized dialogue sequences using an integrated timeline editor.
With the new Dialogue Studio, you can record dialogue timing using keyboard controls or your microphone, edit individual dialogue events, apply facial emotions and control when characters speak and react.
Quick Dialogue System is designed to work alongside GTA V trainers and scene-building tools, allowing you to create detailed cinematic scenes without replacing your existing workflow.
Version 1.9 introduces a completely redesigned interface, Dialogue Studio, walk recording, advanced actor management, independent scene saving and integration with T&P Recorder 1.0.
KEY FEATURES
DIALOGUE STUDIO
Dialogue Studio is the main new feature of Quick Dialogue System 1.9.
Create conversations involving the Player and recruited actors, record their dialogue timing and edit individual events on a visual timeline.
Dialogue Recording
Timeline Editing
Facial Emotions
Apply six facial expressions to characters during dialogue:
Neutral, Happy, Angry, Sad, Nervous and Surprised.
Dialogue playback synchronizes Lip Movement, automatic Head Tracking and supported facial emotions with recorded events.
ESCORT & WALK RECORDING
Quick Dialogue System now allows you to create and record scenes involving characters walking together.
Escort Mode
Walk Recording
The system is designed for cinematic walking conversations, group scenes and character interactions.
Walking recordings are a separate QDS feature and do not require T&P Recorder.
LIP MOVEMENT
Quick Dialogue System supports several Lip Movement modes:
Off: Lip Movement is disabled.
Manual: Control speech animation using the configured dialogue keys.
Continuous: Mouth movement plays continuously until disabled.
Interval: Actors alternate between speaking and silent periods using configured time ranges.
The previous Loop mode has been renamed to Continuous.
Lip Movement operates independently from Head Tracking.
HEAD TRACKING & NATURAL ATTENTION
Head Tracking allows actors to direct their attention toward other characters or the camera.
Off: Head Tracking is disabled.
Manual: Actors continuously look toward a selected target, including the Player, another recruited actor or a supported camera.
Auto: Actors react automatically to active speakers.
Natural Attention adds more realistic behavior through reaction delays, minimum attention periods and delayed attention release.
Multiple simultaneous speakers are supported, allowing actors to distribute their attention more naturally.

QDS can recognize existing characters by their models and saved positions, including identical story characters.
The system can also wait for characters that are spawned later by external scene tools.
Additional Features
QDS Scene files store the dialogue and character configuration layer, not the complete world or all objects created by external trainers.

Quick Dialogue System 1.9 introduces optional integration with T&P Recorder 1.0.
Drivers and passengers in recorded Player Takes can speak and direct their attention during vehicle scenes.
T&P Recorder controls dialogue events and gaze timing in Pro Mode, while QDS handles Lip Movement and Head Tracking animations.

Copy an existing .lang language pack and translate the user-facing text manually or using an AI translation tool.
Custom language packs are supported without modifying the mod's source code.
Keep the original file structure and translation keys unchanged. Translate only the user-facing text.
IMPORTANT: GTA V FONT COMPATIBILITY
Before creating a custom translation, please check which languages and character sets are supported by GTA V's fonts.
Although Quick Dialogue System accepts custom language packs, some characters may not display correctly if the game's fonts do not support them.
For the best compatibility, we recommend using languages officially supported by GTA V or languages whose characters are known to display correctly.
Custom translations using unsupported characters may require additional font modifications.

Quick Dialogue System now includes a full-screen User Guide.
The guide explains the main features, keyboard controls, actor management, dialogue recording, timeline editing and other advanced tools.

Open it through Settings > Guide.
The guide also opens automatically on the first launch.

I'm so glad you made this. I had to cancel a movie project for a while after the lip movement mod by jedijosh920 stopped working. I really wanna try this mod.
But what prerequisites do you need? Does it work with Script Hook Nightly 189 or Script Hook Enhanced?
@Pinkjughead01 Legacy only. You can use ScriptHookVDotNet Nightly with QDS
@VirtuOzZ Great thanks. I got a few hurdles to jump to get organised for my film...but I like the look of this mod. I can't wait to test this and write back soon. Thank you. :)
Just an important request. Can you make an update that works with Script Hook Enhanced? If you can, it would be very useful for newer builds.
@Pinkjughead01 Enhanced support has already been added in the latest updates. It's clearly stated in the mod description, along with all the required dependencies.
Please take a moment to read the description and check the latest updates before requesting features that are already available.
Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if you've even downloaded and tested the mod before asking these questions.
@VirtuOzZ removed the AI generated thumbnail for you, free of charge 😙
Pity it will not work with about 80 percent of script mods for legacy as the latest script hook kills most script mods except the newest ones
@brendan62 Please name a few examples of older script mods that no longer work with the latest ScriptHookVDotNet. I’ll run some tests, and if I can reproduce the issue, I may release a compatibility patch.
At the moment, QDS on Legacy works alongside Scene Director, Ghost Replay, Map Editor and Menyoo, and I haven’t noticed any compatibility problems.
@VirtuOzZ AdvancedPersistence, Advanced Custom Blips, SimmyHaulage, SPA, BennysOriginalMotorworks (off the top off my head) some issues are worse than others. The latest script hook does not support what it calls deprecated versions of scripts .Menyoo is an asi no not affected
@brendan62 QDS was mainly designed for machinima, with compatibility focused on Scene Director, Simple Native Trainer for GTA V, Menyoo, and Traffic and Player Recorder.
I’m still looking into support for older ScriptHookVDotNet versions and older script mods, and may improve backwards compatibility if possible.
@VirtuOzZ ScriptHookVDotNet-v3.7.0-nightly 94 (feb 2026) is the last version that supports older scripts. That works with pretty much everything as far back as 2019 and as recent as last month (M8T scripts). But i have found a good mod that does what i need (NPCInteractionMod) but lots of people use older scripts.
@brendan62 Thanks for the useful information. I’ll add a backwards compatibility patch in one of the upcoming QDS updates.
@VirtuOzZ no problem and i hate that you cannot edit what you write on here, one or two typos and half of what i typed make no sense.
@brendan62 Thanks for the useful info. QDS 1.3.5 is now released with a backwards compatibility patch for the Legacy version.
You can now use the Legacy build with ScriptHookVDotNet v3.7.0-nightly.94, while it also remains compatible with the latest ScriptHookVDotNet Enhanced [Legacy & Enhanced].
If you try it together with your older scripts, let me know how it works.
only support english language ?????
@VirtuOzZ ok give a shot tomorrow and let you know
@VirtuOzZ works fine no issues
@ReNNie For free?! No way, man. Drop your card number, you deserve 50 UAH for that 😂
