Resource Adjuster
About
A collection of patches (some of which are used by FiveM) to improve stability, reduce texture loss and actually use your system's available resources as much as possible.
Please note that this script is designed for high end systems with 8GB or more of GPU memory and more than 8GB of system memory available to be used solely by the game, although this is configurable via the included INI file.
Requirements
Installation
Place "GTAV.ResourceAdjuster.asi" & "ResourceAdjuster.ini" into your Grand Theft Auto V folder.
Details
This script modifies texture/asset VRAM budget limits as well as the amount of memory allocated to the streaming of the map and props. Stock GTA V has quite restrictive values for these such as just over 1.5GiB set aside for maxed out textures. The default setting in the INI basically doubles this limit to around 3.5GiB. System memory is automatically detected and adjusted for.
This does not replace any other type of adjuster so keep on using great patches like Packfile limit adjuster, heap adjuster, SirenSetting Limit Adjuster or weapon limit adjuster when you need them.

@zombieguy Happy to report with your recommended settings, there has been no more crashes! ^_^ I even took the additional GPU memory up to 2500 with even Reshade;s RTGI on still no crash! I think its safe to assume that the experimental mode was crashing my game. BTW, How high is the reasonable max additional GPU memory for a 8GB GPU? Anything in addition of game current usage landing less than 8GB? Also you could tell other users facing crashes to test if experimental mode is their problem on a pinned comment or something. ;)
@Shadow Nice one, glad to hear it! Recommended additional will vary with what you have installed and your ingame settings and resolution, if you have an overlay or use task manager just try to make sure you don't go over ~7.5GB GPU usage other wise your game will start to use system/shared memory which may cause stuttering or potentially crashes.
@GALM1 Same here, finally
@zombieguy Thanks will do. :)
I have a video showing it off here:
https://youtu.be/38eFzERAaDg
I’ll do a comparison but I use it with the fwBox (for streaming YMAPS) mod so it seems stable.
Hello, im looking for VXP Timecycle Editor author, if its you let me know or at least say why this great tool has been abandoned and deleted from everywhere
@safari4831 Yeah that was me, I originally wanted to make it an in-game menu by modifying memory while the game was running to essentially make it a live editor but ran into issues and then It also got a bit outdated and I had people spamming me about it.
it's something I could revisit in the future maybe, honestly surprised you even knew about it.
@zombieguy Oh you made that? I downloaded that two days ago but some of the values in the color picking wouldn’t update. The VisualReloader also doesn’t work anymore and it’s been years. Hopefully that’s something that will released.
Waiting on a shadow and LOD fix: https://youtu.be/RTTrCElLlmU
@zombieguy what setting do you recommend for a 3090 or 4090 (24GB of VRAM)?
@Suzerain001 Important thing to remember is you only need to set the amount you need, the default should be good enough for most, if you experience texture loss or stuttering when moving fast then start to increase it, I've ran complete vehicle replace packs, maxed out NVE, big map mods and LSPDFR off the default value I set in the INI.
@EVGR LOD stuff can be unstable at extreme distances but I've extended LOD ranges a bit in a few example which can be seen here: https://imgur.com/a/w4913TZ sadly not as noticeable after compression but it definitely helps in cases of bad LOD changes.
@zombieguy thank you so much for this amazing mod.
I'm experiencing crashes after installing NVE along with GTA V Remastered. At first, I thought GTA V Remastered is causing the crash, because when I'm uninstalling it, game turns normally, then I found this mod. Initially the game still crashes, then I disabled the experimental mode and turned down the extra VRAM to 1024 MB. Game starts to boot, but it crashed again when I'm about to enter a vehicle. Increasing extra VRAM value above 1024 MB takes no effect at all (I'm using Ryzen 5800X with 32GB RAM and an RTX 3060 12GB). Wondering if decreasing the value could solve the issue since the default value is 1900 MB and you suggest to decrease to 1024 MB, I turned it down to 512 MB, and... the game runs perfectly with no issues at all. No more texture loss and my game is running at around 30 fps stable with ENB and ReShade. You're a game changer.
so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my game uses nvr, forest, ... mods, it seems not to crash, but 6 months ago it crashed before use Resource Adjuster
@zombieguy I see. Is there any downside to adjusting the amount to say 20,000 (since the 3090/4090 has 24GB of VRAM)?
@Suzerain001 Other than it maybe causing an unlikely crash or running out of memory somewhere else as far as I'm aware no. I've played for an hour with it set at 10GiB and was fine, the better way to look at it though, is there any upside to setting that much? The answer is no, you only need as much as you need, which for most seems to max out before 2GiB.
@zombieguy great point. will keep it at default and see how it goes. thanks.
@Suzerain001 From my experience, even with that much VRAM, setting the additional GPU Memory any higher than 1024 MB is more likely to result in crashes. It's strange in that it almost seems like lower values are far more stable as I was able to maintain a steady session of play for well over an hour before memory errors.
I was skeptical about this script the first time I saw it, but after using it for a couple of weeks, I am really impressed. I'm running this along with LSPDFR and many other mods, no more texture loss or texture pop-ins when calling a lot of backups.
@zombieguy I'd like to quickly add, please remind those who complain or experience constant or continued game crashes, to remember the fact that there other requirements needed to keep heavy GTA5 modding stable.
'Resource adjuster' is just one of them and a major vital one, if I may add.
Other requirements needed are;
1) Obviously updating to latest ScripthookV & VDotNet versions is advised.
2) Pack File Limit Adjuster
3) Heap limit Adjuster (setting this to 10,000 is found to really help for most with mem related game crashes)
4) Weapons limit Adjuster
5) SirenSetting limit Adjuster
6) fwBoxStreamerVariable and decals limit patch
7) Weapons limit Adjuster .
Lastly, beware of using large amounts of extended scaling distance, this takes a whole lot of memory.
@nj5050 Nice! noted!
