Persistent vehicle fuel for GTA V, with a refuel you walk through.
Every vehicle carries a real fuel tank. It empties as you drive, and it is still empty when you come back to that car tomorrow.
===================================
WHAT IT IS
Refuelling is not a menu. Walk to the pump, take the nozzle. It goes in your hand and the hose comes with you. Walk round to that model's filler, fill up, walk the nozzle back and hang it up. Walk too far and the hose pulls it out of your hands.
Runs on Legacy and Enhanced from one build.
===================================
WHAT ELSE IS IN THERE
===================================
REQUIREMENTS
On GTA V Enhanced it must be the Enhanced fork: script-hook-v-net-enhanced
The Enhanced fork reports 3.9.0.0 but is released as v1.1.x. To see what you have: right-click ScriptHookVDotNet3.dll, Properties, Details.
Nothing else is needed. Remove any other fuel mod first. Two fuel mods will both cut your engine and both charge you, and neither will know about the other.
Compatibility. No game files are touched, so graphics, map and vehicle packs are fine. Built alongside Posted Up and Bare Minimum and tested with both running.
===================================
INSTALLING
Copy the scripts folder from the zip into your GTA V folder. You end up with Fumes.dll, Fumes.ini and a Fumes folder inside scripts. The Fumes\icons folder is the HUD's pictures, keep it.
To uninstall, delete those. Nothing else is written and nothing in the game's files is touched.
No log at all? The mod writes scripts\Fumes\Fumes.log on startup. If it is not there the DLL never ran, which is nearly always ScriptHookVDotNet 3 missing or older than 3.6.0.
===================================
CONTROLS
===================================
CHANGELOG
Fumes 1.0.4 is up. Three bug fixes from the comments.
Bikes ignored every consumption setting you changed. A bike's thirst is worked out from its tank and range, and that was returning over the top of the class figure, so the CLASSES page showed your number while the burn used another. Change it now and yours wins. Pinning a bike by name works too. @AliG_15
The gauge was placed for whatever resolution the game first reported and never looked again, so fullscreen and windowed could not both be right. It also dragged Bare Minimum's row off the side of the screen. Measured once a second now. @paparumz
No route to a station if you already had a waypoint set. The route is drawn on the station's own blip and never touched your waypoint, so standing aside was pointless. Both lines draw now. @AliG_15
Drop it over the old one, nothing needs a new save.
Every changelog CHANGES.txt, inside the zip.

WHAT ELSE IS IN THERE
- Siphon fuel out of any car with a jerry can, or fill the can at a pump;
- A full can does not stop it. The overflow pools at your feet, and it ignites;
- Fuel grades: Regular, Plus, Premium. The grade stays in the tank. A card at the pump shows what each costs there;
- Diesel for trucks, buses, tractors and the fire engine. Costs more, goes further;
- Bikes get a bike's tank, about seventeen dollars to fill, same range as a car;
- Electric vehicles are left alone entirely. No tank, no gauge, no fuel burned. Detected by the model's own flag, so DLC and add-on electrics too;
- Traffic pulls into forecourts when it is low and already nearby;
- The gauge sloshes with speed, chimes on reserve, and hides with the game's HUD, in cutscenes and through fades;
- Nine languages from the settings menu: English (UK, US), Português (BR), Español, Français, Deutsch, Русский, Polski, Hindi, 中文. English by default; anything a translation does not cover shows in English. Picking one sets the units its speakers expect. Each is one json file, so corrections and new languages need no rebuild;
- Twenty-five stations on the map, one legend entry between them. Refuelling itself does not use the list: the mod finds the pump you are stood at by its prop, so a station missing from the map still works.
===================================
REQUIREMENTS
- Script Hook V for your edition;

@spitmux I'm havign a problem with the settings not saving:
https://i.ibb.co/gZ9G2C4J/3240220-20260917235139-1.png

Question, how do I change the refill animation with the hose? You mentioned something about animation but I can't understand a single word of the English translation of the .ini...it's not even English...
@spitmux Never mind the issue has been resolved. Needed DirectStorageFix.
when the car is turned off it drains gas it only drains when youre inside the car hoping for a fix soon
@paparumz hopefully fixed for you in 1.0.4 :)
@Seigla's De Rock thank you, that's very kind :)
@jerome74 ha, cheers mate.
@marceladrian95 thanks mate. It finds pumps by their prop rather than by coordinates, so if LCPP uses the stock ones it should just work. @ChargedKILO got it going in Liberty City by loading the stock pump props with MapLoaderAuto, worth a try.
@YRebirth thanks mate, and both are settings. In Fumes.ini under [General] it's MenuKey and MenuModifier, so you can take it off Shift entirely. Hoodrich's phone is [Phone] Key in its own ini, F2 by default, and you can turn off the game's phone button there too.
@unitedOrange66 the extinguisher one is real and still on my list. The nozzle sits in his hand by borrowing an invisible weapon, and the hide isn't holding on MP characters. thanks ill get them sorted
@AliG_15 two of the three are done in 1.0.4. Bikes take the consumption figure you set now, and the route draws even with a waypoint already down. Still need the helipad one, which station is it? Cheers for all the reports.
@Chantha Silentsnight fair point. The interact key is settable in the ini but siphon uses the game's own secondary control, so for now it only moves if you rebind it in GTA's settings. I'll give it its own key.
@GrandHaven cheers mate :)
@gvnn thank you :) hanging it up is the thing most people mention, so I'll keep chipping at it.
@JRod glad you got it sorted, and cheers for posting the fix.
@xenmf2k good spot. Fix on the way. thanks
@spitmux I noticed the Ocelot E-Stride has fuel, it should be fully electric.
https://i.ibb.co/0R60YcQc/3240220-20260920032331-1.png
@spitmux It’s the helipad where your purchased helicopters are stored. That’s the station I meant. Thanks for the fixes!
Also, the painted rope is bugged, the "black paint" does not show sometimes; and after playing the game a while the fuel HUD disappears.
@spitmux The Guardian doesn't seem to be working with the mod, no option to refill and no hud.
Sorry to ask more from you, but could you add the option to show the gas stations on the minimap seperatly from the pause map? You have this option in Bare Minimum and I love that is clear my blip count on my pause map, while the minimap can be as crowded as need be. If you can't no worries, this is still a top tier mod in my daily play!
Great mod !
@spitmux Dosn't work with the Karin BeeJay XL
great mod, but theres a problem with it, when I take the hose, theres a jerry can cover the hose, like the can is attached to the hose, 9 outta 10 times, and also I can't put back the hose but have to walk away to lose it
@spitmux thanks for the mod, I'm really liking it.
A couple things I noticed are - when I load a game and then refill, but then I dont save the game (exit and reload) the fuel meter will be full like I had saved it.
I was getting a low fuel indicator and went and jacked another car. The gps waypoint was still trying to get me to car when the new car was electric.
Also since this mod doesn't cover electric stuff Im using Fuel reloaded and just turning off the combustible fuel parts and leaving the electric/hybrid stuffs (more or less for anyone wandering around and needing to cover those cars). My main gripe with that mod was every so often (and it happened often) the vehicle would stop slow and the reverse everytime you accelerated and even if you had plenty of fuel, super annoying.
@spitmux Hello! Thank you for your mod.
I've noticed that changing the fuel range doesn't seem to work for several vehicle categories, for example:
- Compacts
- Off-road vehicles
- Commercial vehicles
- Service vehicles
Even after changing the settings, the fuel range remains unchanged.
Could you please check why the changes to these categories are not taking effect?
Thank you!
@spitmux Hi! I think I’ve finally figured it out. I needed to set PerModel = 0 for the individual vehicle settings to work correctly.
This is a really awesome mod, but when I play it and press a key, it keeps repeating the key a few times. For example, when I try to hook the fuel port, I press it once, and it keeps hooking back, then after a few frames it goes back to me again. Do you know what causes this?
this mod is great, but honestly, shift+f for menu is really not the best. cuz every single time I sprint to my car and try to get in - I open the menu. is there some way to rebind it at least?
